Unhappy a tribute to my beloved E46 330Ci

The past weeks have been somehwat super sad for me. I did not expect it to get so extremely hard to say good bye to my E46 330Ci. I was driving this car for more than 12 years. I literally spent a fortune on it and roughly 700 hours of work... This car has been on #1 rank on the coupe section of e46fanatics.de for 10 years now, unbeaten....

Was looking around for the last 5 years for a new car but simply couldn't settle with anything available, so i just kept driving and enjoying it untill this april when the first Pics/Videos from the M2C dropped... That moment i knew what i was looking for the past five years and actually waiting almost half of my life for.

The hopefully soon coming M2C is the reason why this beauty has to go... Or better said the missing 45K$ garage space is it... On august 31st the new owner will get this car into his hands, probably not nearly understanding what unique and special car he's going to get...

I really hope he's going to be worthy..!

.

Had a 330ci as well for roughly 5yrs, until some drunk idiot crashed into it while it was parked on the street and pretty much totaled it. That was a long time ago, but I too loved that car so I know where you are coming from. My favorite part of the car was being able to crack open the rear windows. It was such a cool feature for a coupe.

Legend! I think that the m2 cars are special because they will attract the enthusiast like you and many others (me included!) I came from a really nice 135 which i also spent a good deal of money and time on. Like you i also kept my 135 for 10 years and wasn't all that excited about a new car until the M2 Comp.

But looking forward to the M2 Competition is exciting right?

Its actually very exciting yes the E46 was loaded with so much additional electronics... especially the hifi made the doors heavy like a tank... at least +200lbs... the M2C will be a super lightweight car compared to this one! :-D

So it all depends from where you are coming... i guess i‘ll miss the sound of the M54 and the hydraulic steering the most....

Great car! Too bad you can't keep her. I understand if you don't have garage space. When I saw this thread I thought how I would feel if I had to sell my E39 M5, which I've had since 2004.

Well, the M2C is a nice consolation prize!

A very sweet E46 there - can't believe you let that go. If I had an E39 M5 or E46 M3/330Ci/330i ZHP I think it'd be "til death do us part".

Yes i'm happy i'm not waiting for a renault espace but for the M2C, that helps to lessen the pain a lot.

I also thought i'd be with this car for ever, but with 180'000km on the clock things also tend to get costly.... the ultimate issue after all is the missing third garage space, and certain things aren't exactly cheap where i live...

I will enjoy the coming few last days with it a lot. It has been a hell of a ride with that glorious car...

technically all went well. buyer brought the money, went straight to to bank, all documents signed, all complete, all good.

But i feel a deep loss, very deep. yes my heart is broken. This car has such a special history, it is very well know in the german area.. spent over 12 years with it. so many good memories, so much fun with it, never any real issues. Even my two boys (3y & 4y old) where pretty sad and wanted to say bye bye to the BMW.

i guess i'll try all of my whisky's i have here tonight.....

Please don't do that to your M2C lol
