Cool Black Saphire 6MT M2C Build Thread - Summer Update

After taking some time to bond with the car first i now decided to start my build thread. I have quite a few things in mind but plan to do slow progress and enjoy the way getting there. She won't be as extremely moddified as my E46 but I know I can't let my fingers off completely so.... Since I took delivery with winter wheels I was not yet motivated to make a lot of fancy pictures, so expect those to pop up next spring...

I will keep working on this thread and post updates to the original thread once in a while...

How did you code the lossless audio in carplay out of curiosity and how do you like tidal?

I use TIDAL together with Roon on my HighEnd AudioPC and therefore have a lot of playlists. TIDAL is not only sounding very very good (it provides lossles 16/44.1 up to 24/192 with MQA) its also great to have your playlists synced between your AudioPC, HomeTheater, mobile phone and your car.

Apple CarPlay is basically useless, but TIDAL's CarPlay integration makes it invaluable for me. I can leave my phone in the pocket, don't have to fiddle with cables and have the highest possible level in terms of source quality, responsiveness/speed, transmission of data and usability.

Will send you a pm about the "how-to"

Great build.

I researched the price of that license plate holder. For that price I was expecting it to be gold plated.

Nice!
I called mine 'Emil', because:
-some guys said HS looks like a German WWII Luftwaffe/airforce colour.
-WWII fighter BF 109 Messerschmitt, nicknamed Emil. BF=Bavarian Aircraft Works.

Cheers

I'll do my best to shape an outstanding and unique vehicle once more you've seen my E46 so you probably have an idea what to expect from me

Yes cheap is certainly different... but its truly exceptional quality and beeing the grey sheep (beeing unique) is a must for me. With certain things in life you have to put things into a certain perspective. In this case its a 10 to 15 year window of time, this makes it a lot easier

Only few know what BMW was doing during that time. A very interesting story of a company and amazing to see what they do nowadays, and how well they do it (at least mostly)

Yes I hope so too...

I've never felt and driven the car yet with summer tyres which is kind a sad.... The narrow winter tyres are overwhelmed by the power, handling isn't too good and I feel I am also missing a lot of precision due to the winter compound...

Next thing on the list is to get the muffler painted! this will be done asap when I am able again to drive the car after the coming knee surgery.

just had a talk about the hood with my dealer last friday when I had my run-in service. I'm afraid i have to pass this one, it will be over 10K CHF incl. painting and installation. It's just not worth that kind of money..

It is time for a little update of my build thread. So what has been done to her so far? Especially during winter and after my knee surgery I had enough time to think about and care for details... The original post has been updated with all details and pictures.

The following modifications have been made so far: M performance coilovers (-20mm), carbon fibre rear diffuser, alcantara steering wheel with cf trims, cf fender grills, steel pedals, Castrol React SRF brake fluid, BMS clutch stop, matte black painted muffler, LED reverse lights, blacked out reverse lights, IND black gloss hood and trunk roundels as well as wheel caps, M valve stem caps, ceramic coating of the 788M wheels and a full detailing at Swissvax headquater. Aside from that I coded the hell out of her...

In a few weeks there will be an official Swissvax "wax application" video featuring Emma so stay tuned!
