Easiest Way to Keep Exhaust Valve Open?
Can aonyone point me to the simplest way of keeping the exhaust valve open on my M2C.
Is there a specific fuse I can remove or the proper procedure of pulling the valve harness. I also read in another thread somewhere a while back there's a harness plug you need to purchase if you pull the harness. |

The easiest way is to remove fuses 146 and 147 (5A fuses) after you have stopped the car in Sport + mode. Don"t bother....... the result of leaving open flaps equal to 0 ...in Efficient and Sport mode the exhaust will be silent....our enemy is OPF.
My conclusion: slip on aftermarket exhaust (to be legal). Something like Remus, Lightweight and soon Akrapovic. Now I see...you are from Canada and you dont,t have OPF installed on the car.))) I will send you somme pictures with the steps to remouve that fuses Last edited by CJ41BIG; 11-23-2018 at 09:44 PM.. |

Fuse 146 and 147 are there for three things:
- valve controllers (one each fuse) - Park Assistant - DC/DC Converter Since the M2C has no Parking Assitant this will be no issue. But honestly I'm not sure if it is a smart idea to bypass the DC/DC Converter. Probably not -> https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1260067 That's why I stick with BimmerLink for the time being. BimmerCode won't help you with the valves and BimmerLink is not permanent. You have to have your dongle in, connected and the app running for it to work. Sooner or later I'll probably go with the Macht Schnell EVC:

Sorry if this was covered elsewhere on forum but - is there any way to force the car to remain in M1 or M2 mode? I have everything turned off and set to M2, it's slightly annoying to have to press it every time. I also notice if you rapidly press the button if you are impatient the screen goes completely blank.
Also - can the same be done for the button down low that tells you if you are approaching a vehicle too quickly? I have the bimmercode app if that helps... Sorry for the side bar Edit: I don't think you need to worry about the DC/DC converter as it's probably just for maintaining stable voltage to certain components during auto start/stop. Seeing as it is the most useless feature ever designed in a car I have it completely disabled anyway. Quote:

I would rather remove the connectors and wrap them with something waterproof instead. Can anyone share their proper procedure to do this? |
