I have a 10" sub from musicar coming for sub bass duty. If you're expecting deep sub bass, then you'll be disappointed for sure, but they sound nice and clear and hit harder than stock for sure. Probably more so when I add the new Bavsound revenant amp in a couple weeks. I'll keep you guys posted on how it all goes |

Not back on the car yet but at least I finished shining its shoes.
2nd coat of Gyeon Q2 Rim applied. While the cleaning & prep takes a lot of work to get right on a dirty wheel, application of Q2 Rim is easy and pretty quick. Hopefully this will reduce the amount of work required to keep the wheels clean. A few more things to do before she comes off the jack stands. |

I can tell you that so far with just the rear/center channels hooked up, it has a much cleaner, crisp sound. The new tweeters are silk dome, instead of aluminum and are much softer, not as harsh and overbearing. The ghost woofers have more volume and much deeper bass than I could have anticipated, and they haven't even come close to breaking in yet. Still not quite enough sub bass (obviously) but damn near enough I imagine for most people. Especially, once I get the Bavsound revenant amp installed when it ships. I'm almost questioning whether or not I really need the musicar 10" enclosure w/ JL audio sub now lol Seriously though, the ghost woofers are perfect for mid bass duty, 4" speakers for midrange, tweeters for highs, and adding the sub should perfectly round out the frequencies nicely. |

Cleaned the stupid yellow pollen off the car. Again. I could have made this post every day for the past 2 weeks.
On the bright side, the rain cleaned it off the other day and with the hydrosilex recharge on there, it looked damn close to how it looks when I wash it for real. Worst is when it rains only a little with the pollen. The whole car ends up having yellow polka dots.

I finished one of the door speakers with the Bavsound kit...and I forgot to take pictures again lol.
It was kind of a PITA honestly. The lighting connectors are a bitch to get off with the door panel off and the greasy tar like sound deadening material used in the kit is messy to install. On the bright side, it should work very well with how dense it is, though you need a hair dryer to soften it up to be more malleable to work around the various edges and bolt holes near the speaker. It took me 2.5 hours to finish everything on one door, but I imagine it should take less than an hour on the next one now that I know how everything goes together. The install video guy said 10 minutes lol 😂 yeah right. It took me 10 minutes to get all my tools together, chair setup and the torx screws out of the door!! I will take some pictures of the passenger door install this time for sure...I hope |

I finally finished the damn Bavsound stage one speaker install...and of course, on the last door speaker something went wrong.
The Bavsound speaker connections are in the back of the speaker instead of the side like the stock ones. So, the speaker wire has to be run inside the door next to the window unit. If you leave too much slack in the wire (like I did apparently) it will catch on the window on the way back up and rip it out of the solder point and break the wire. Fortunately, there was just enough left of the wire to solder it back on and rig it up so I didn't have to have them send me a new one (which they offered to do despite it kind of being my fault). Anyway, I got everything hooked up and it sounds phenomenal. I'm honestly not even sure I need the revenant amp that I ordered, or the musicar 10" sub enclosure/amp w/ JL audio 10w3v3 sub. It really does soften up the highs, and level out the mid bass. It actually hits pretty hard for just two shallow mount 8" woofers, though it doesn't get to the lower sub bass frequencies (nor did I expect it to). It's all much more crisp and clean, with even more volume. I'll let you guys know how it all sounds with the revenant amp and 10" sub. |

looked at it - lamented that it's too cold and snowy to drive it ATM and the 850ish mile i need for breakin service is gonna take a while. tomorrow will be 50 though - perfect (well close as I'll get in New England this time of year) for a lunch drive.

Spent 5 straight hours washing/waxing/detailing the car.
Why? Because I'm a whackjob - at least that's what the Mrs. tells me - often. Looks brand new - ought to - I'm way too old for this. |

I did spend 6+ hours on my wheels over the past week or so. Pulled them off, washed, cleaned with Iron X, then with Tar X & washed again. Polished with Gyeon Q2M and then 2 coats of Q2 RIm a couple of days apart. They look great but that was a lot of work. I am hoping that this will make cleaning the wheels quicker as they usually take more time than the car. |
