Man, I wish I could go back in time. I would have ordered and waited for one from the factory, had a I seen that before signing.

Did you spend $ to replace the part when it happened to you? I am sure it must be at least a couple G’s.
I ended up putting in body colored plugs for the first time. The second time it was my wife's car and she didn't mind the front plate on the car at the time, but we ended up getting rid of the car after 6 months.

Man, that is too bad. I was worried about this from my dealership (Concord, CA) as well, but happy they didnt do it even though I didn't make any special requests.

not ideal, but maybe an option if the dealer doesn't work out?

Thank you for the tip. I really don’t want to settle for that solution, but I really appreciate the info.

Honestly that would have to get painted if it was mine. Totally ruins a new car that you were going to PPF.

Got Fullscreen CarPlay working again. Had an issue with my amplifier a few months ago, so the dealer installed new software making the USB process no longer work. I tried the new method a few weeks ago using a Windows computer and an Ethernet to OBDII cable; because I tried this over my phone's hotspot instead of a Wifi connection, I almost tanked my headunit. Thankfully I was able to disconnect the battery and restore from a backup. I tried this again over a Wifi connection and the process worked beautifully. This is how CarPlay should have come from the factory. Maps especially are so much better using the full width of the screen.

What % and brand of tint do you have? It looks perfect in that lighting!

I can;t find a solid post where they show us how to get this done.... hopefully you can chime in and give us a link on how exactly you got it going

I sent a message to a forum member on here called Wibbles who sounds like he works for a UK company called BR Diagnostics (they have a Facebook page), though I believe there are other competitors you can go through. They send me a pdf and a code that I followed to get this working.

I got the full screen from these guys https://www.bmweasycoding.com/

You send them a pic of your idrive version and they will tell you if you can do it through USB or remote coding. Works perfectly.

Wow good prices purchased the USB coding. Hopefully they don't need me to do remote coding cause I don't have Enet cable.

got my CA to affirm that there will be no:
  • Drilling of bumpers/plate holders mounted
  • Anyone driving it for any reason without my consent and approval
  • no machine washing. I'll allow them to hand wash and prep it.

Boat is due in 2 days then hopefully I can take it on the 20th! so excited!

I just reached to the general manger of the dealer, I ordered direct through him. Had to make sure they didn’t drill the front bumper, I already ordered my Vanity plate for it.

My early M2C observations coming from OG M2 16:

- Muffler was hideous but painted it right away, looks good now
- Stock exhaust sounds great to me, don't know why people complain lol
- Suspension, ride feels better to me. Not grocery getter SUV better but better
- Digital mph reading is like 100 times larger now, no longer need a magnifying glass to read it
- DSC OFF indicator, i like how this is moved it over to the left side now. On OG, it will right in the center which was annoying
- HS color, really digging it now. Didn't care for it too much when i first saw it in person
- Seats are a nice upgrade and feel more comfy
- Digging the new iDrive, better screen resolution. Doesn't feel like i'm looking at a CRT screen anymore

Overall I'm happy with upgrading from the OG to M2C
Congrats on new car.
If I may ask... how do you make money on (any) trade in?

I'm guessing he just owed less than the car than it was worth. So after paying the bank he had cash in hand, but not more cash than he started with before he bought a car.
