You know, my ignorance is showing... I went down the list of coding I did on my E90 335i, and the fog lights was one thing I had done previously. When it showed up in the list on BimmerCode, I just selected it. I don't have fog lights on the M2

A catch can will not prevent carbon deposits 100%... also depends on other factors such as driving habits... but I would say it can definitely slow down the carbon buildup process so that you can delay a need for a walnut blast cleaning of your valves... but if you got OCD like I do about these things then the catch can will definitely increase your own longevity by preventing stress :

As a car noob, how can I check myself for carbon deposits?
Short of removing the intake plenum to look at the intake valves no

Some have said there is additional noise even when coded off (the amp is still in the signal path). I only coded it because I haven't installed the bypass yet (only had the car for two days).

Just remove the whole can. Its a 2 minute job.

Then you can flush out the whole thing, on the bench, clean the baffles etc. Using a strong deagreaser.

Just watch the bottom edge / sharp corner of the can presses against a water hose. I make sure the can is mounted rearwards as far as possible and stuck padded foam on the bottom of the can to prevent chaffing on the water hose...

Do you need to remove the carbon brace to remove the catch can?

Also, is there any room at the bottom of the catch can once mounted where a drain plug could be installed?

Actually the tailights have fog lights which are coded out on US models.

I don't think my OBDII dongle is reliable enough. Just got it from Amazon, but it drops the connection to Bimmercode (via WiFi) randomly. If it were to lose the signal in the middle of coding, could be big problem.
Which OBDII dongle did you use, if I may ask?
A link to Amazon would be great.

This is the one that I bought. It's Bluetooth not WiFi. It has never lost connection.

Just finished installing the ASD bypass harness. Thanks to all those who left excellent instructions and pictures in this thread:

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=319

The hardest part was freeing the inner panel from the trunk lip trim. I didn't want to break it, and just couldn't figure out how to free it after taking off the four pop rivets. I was able to muscle the liner out and from there it was a cakewalk.

M2 has rear fog lights, but you need to do the coding then enable the button. You do have a physical button it just doesn't work until you pop the button out and shave off some plastic tabs that prevent the button from physically moving in and out. You'll find tutorial if you search, very easy and very satisfying when used against tailgaters.

Does it make you use the bundled software or could you just use apps like Torque and BimmerCode?

I used BimmerCode and BimmerLink successfuly, so it's generic.

Had a long mountain drive and then washed it and filled it up with gas. Saw an M2C with remus exhaust and felt jealous AF, LOL!

It is possible to code the rear fog lights to flash rapidly when braking hard without changing any hardware. I used Carly to code mine. I had a friend follow me while I slammed on the brakes. It works.
The fog lights can also be coded to come on when activating comfort lighting. I have all of my lights come on when I unlock the car at night except the headlights.
