So, I removed the rear diffusor, and I find these. Left and Right supports.
Are these required for the CF diffusor install?

That's what I am thinking. Also the CF part doesn't have the tongues for the parts.

To my recollection, in all the posts I've seen, people did not re-use them.
On a slightly different topic, could you tell us how you removed the stock diffuser? And if you had any stumbling blocks? |

And good luck trying to put those back on. I reinstalled the stock diffusor and there's no way I could get them back in.
Yes, the clips require serious force to remove. Best use a trim tool to assist in the removal. |

Thursday is the day - if the weather holds. I wanted to remove the diffuser and the tips so I could do as good of a job as possible without removing the exhaust.

I'm also planning to clean, prime, and paint my muffler while I have the diffuser off |

Make sure to wrap the pry tool in painters tape. No visible marks on the car. I won't prime the can, but I will go over it with some 1500 grit sand paper. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day!

No kidding! I looked at putting those back on, and I can't figure out how they got installed in the first place. My only though was they were installed with the diffuser while the bumper was off.

Sorry for the confusion. It's not my muffler or pic, just wanted to show what I meant by using gloves.
Mine has been done the same and turned out very well, even without removing the muffler at all. Done two months ago, still like on first day

1500 grit sandpaper will remove any gunk that could prevent adhesion - nothing more.

I wish I could drop the entire system - for sure the glove idea would work great!

I used a red 3M Scotch-Brite pad to sand the muffler lightly, primed with VHT (SP106 Hi-Temp) and painted with VHT Hi-Temp Flat Black. All while on the car. Covered areas of potential over spray and used a piece of cardboard while spraying. Did the glove thing as ///M Houbi suggested.
