Before you scroll down to the photos, I have a story to tell you.

Now at 1 year in, with over 18k miles on the odometer. Absolutely LOVE this beast in every way. It is the perfect car. And, yet, starting 6 months ago, I began to contemplate buying the Cayman T when the car finally becomes available on our shores. Why? Why in the world would I do so, when I LOVE the M2C, and the M2C is perfect in every way in terms of my real world needs, and my preferences? It's got 4 seats so I can fit my 3 and 6 year-olds in the back, ample trunk space, more power and torque than I could ever need, and a very subtle style that lets you fly under the radar...

That last point is the issue. I know! I know! People SPECIFICALLY choose the M2C because it is perfectly understated. But, here's my problem: I'm a middle-aged Asian dude. I've been good at math and ping pong all my life. I'm the guy who sat at the front of the class and dutifully took notes. I'm the guy who scrimped and saved every penny, eating ramen every night, plain ramen, just so that I could max out the 401k. I'm the guy who takes the kids to their grandma's on Saturday so that his wife can go to the native plant society meeting... you getting the picture?

I'm the world's most boring motherf***er!!!

The M2C was supposed to be my mid-life crisis car! It was supposed to let me be the young, virile hooligan I never was! But, the HS M2C flies under the radar! A racing yellow Cayman T, with decals that shout "Cayman T" all over it does not fly under the radar!

So, I prepared to head down to the local Porsche dealership to put a deposit down for a Cayman T allocation... and then my inner Asian came out and said, "Dude, seriously? You're gonna have 2 performance cars sitting in your driveway, massively depreciating at the same time? When you already have the car you love?"

And that's when a lightening bolt of inspiration and self-knowledge and self-acceptance struck me. It said, "Cpt. Obvious, it's time to embrace the gaudy, laughable, horribly tacky M-Performance decals. You loved them when the M2C launched at Ascari. But, you didn't sack up and get them, because you were afraid. You were afraid of being laughed at. When are you going to stop letting fear rule your life? When are you going to stop being a ping pong playing boy, and become a real man?"

Well, friends, that day is today! Today, I embrace who I am! I am a paunchy, middle-aged dude, trying desperately to cling onto his waning manhood, and goddammit, I am proud of my M-Performance decals!

Yes, when you pull up next to me, and see me in my business attire, headed to my software job, yes, shake your head ruefully as you mutter, "There goes another poor bastard with a bad case of mid-life crisis, over-compensating with a muscle car..."

Behold, friends, today's mod!
Love it!

I think you did the right thing. The 718 is a dime-a-dozen car (relatively speaking), yellow or not. If you already love the M2C, then the only vertical move would be a GT4, Spyder, possibly GTS. Don't get me wrong, the Cayman T should be fun to drive, but it is Porsche just putting a slightly stripped model out there to cash in on. While the M2C is one of BMW's best cars! However, the Cayman is one of my favorite cars, and if you do make the move in the future...pics please.

BTW, Sunset Orange (the color I have), does not fly under the radar.
HS is not too bad itself...

Other attention grabbing options, so you can suppress your feelings of middle aged helplessness:

-Aftermarket wheels.. HREs, BBS, Volks, Apex, etc
-Springs or coilovers for a better stance
-Carbon lip, etc
-Akra or M Performance exhaust

Or a combination of all four since you were thinking about getting a second sports car anyway!

Now with a more aggressive suspension lowered on HREs your kids might be bouncing up and down in the rear seat, but at least they will think you are the coolest dad in town.

*Excuse the picture overload*
Took her straight from the dealership to my local tint/wrap guys to get 20% tint all around, 50% on the windshield. I got her fully protected (whole car) by Xpel Ultimate Plus and also had them install the M Front Splitter Decals. They Xpel'd the CS-Style wing I purchased and also installed it. I had them use a black metallic vinyl over the reflectors which is just as good as the IND kit.

From there she went straight to get Ceramic Pro'd. 2 Layers on the whole car, plus windows, wheels and interior leather and trim.

I'm far more offended by how dirty your wheels are than the M-Performance decals.

Well, after a few trips to Princess Auto and countless hours of browsing forums, I finally hardwired my Blackvue DR650 2CH dashcam using the Power Magic Pro!

For reference, I used two Mini Fuse Taps each with two 5AMP fuses. I tapped the Battery wire into Fuse 150 (rear trunk light) and the ACC wire into Fuse 147 (the radio). All the cables tucked perfectly and reached the rear fuse box with no issues I kept the fuse box area clean using electrical tape.

Giant M2competition stickers - you gotta live up to the user name.

If you want to bring it back down to earth, you can throw on the roof racks.

0-60 run with M Performance analyser. 4.0 seconds with AA mid pipe, Remus Race axleback, BMC drop in filters and charcoal filter delete. Had 3/4 tank of gas, next time I will try with about 1/4 tank of gas and lower the rear tire pressure.

Is there any advantage to using M Performance analyser compared to the various free apps that don't require an OBD dongle?

Changed out the plugs with NGKs, VRSF charge pipe, and BMC filter. Those plastic screws are pain to take off even with the correct tool, otherwise pretty straight forward.

I thought most of the apps use something read information off the ODB-2 port. I noticed with the M Performance analyser it reads max RPM while doing the 0-60 run.

Agreed. It's only 20% too and it's so drastic how much better it looks. Good thing it rains here all the time because otherwise it might actually be useful :

Nope. I have Race Timer and it doesn't require any dongles. And it's free.
It uses the phone's GPS for everything. Obviously it doesn't know RPMs.
