I went out into the garage again and can't see it. That's so odd, because I even shined a flashlight at many angles and still couldn't produce the effect in your photo.

I can see it now you highlighted it.
However I am not sure they could consider it as a defect: after close inspection I cannot see anything that looks like a scratch or something broken...

I showed my dealer and they replaced mine under waranty, but the replacement had the same. Maybe some bad badges of door sills?

Did they validate the change with BMW Switzerland before doing it ?

Too funny!

Poor //M Houbi trying to do some buds a favor and getting grief

I vowed to never look again, but, of course, just went out to the garage to check deeper on my car (because it's all I can do with the car now with more FUCKING SNOW last night). i really don't see it on mine. Which, I would think is hope that there are sill plates out there w/o the issue to fix the affected cars

<Edit> Mine was built Week 47. Wondering if it's earlier builds w/the prob?

Mine was a build week 30 something. Only affected on one side. Once it is scuffed I will use it as an excuse for warranty replacement.

We can't really hold it against Houbi, he was pretty clear in the thread title..

How is warranty supposed to replace a scuffed door sill? This falls under the "Environmental" section of what is not covered in the BMW warranty; normal use of cars and scuffing of doors/door sills would not be covered, unless you know someone that works there of course lol

Lol u missed the point. I will use the defect in the letter P as the excuse but will wait till it is scuffed
