How did you pay for your M2?
This pool is specific to M2 owners.
Just curious as to how M2 owners chose to pay for their toy. (this should be totally anonymous; let me know if that's not the case) |

Payed for most of it (over 2/3) in cash, financed the rest over a few years. It might've been smarter to finance more and invest the difference but I really hate having a large monthly payment. Might pay it off early though, we'll see. I'm not planning to get rid of the car.

I think this poll really helps me out actually. I've been debating whether to lease or to buy. I don't have a business and since residual is at 48% for 36mo 10k miles, I don't think it would make any sense to lease whatsoever. My savings is exactly enough to pay off the car, but I don't want to put down all my savings of course. I'm thinking about what some of you guys did and maybe just put down 20-30k and just finance the rest. APR is pretty crap right now though. Saw a credit union willing to do 2.89% for 36 months so I might do that.

The 2019 M2c was very recently added to the BMW Finance Specials page. I was planning to pay cash, but if they're going to offer 2.89%, I can't say no!
Still put $18,000 down just to make sure the loan balance was below $50k |

Is that yours that auto-populated on Kuni's site this week? I recall that you said you were getting an LBB on another thread (or I need more coffee).

Where did you see 2.89, the published rate for M2C is 2.99.

Perhaps the special changed, but it was definitely 2.89% earlier this week. I've got a big stack of paperwork to prove it! |

Nobody wants to admit that (s)he received the M2 as a gift? Not even partial, as parents helped with the down payment or some such? |

This dealer was offering BMW Financing for 2.89 (60 months) for the M2 or M2C so I decided to go that route since the transaction was going to be easier to go through BMW and I also plan to pay off the loan early so a few interest points is not going to make much of a difference. I posted my deal with a breakout of the price (post #53): https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1515072&page=3 It's irritating that none of the California dealers offered the 2.89% and they kept telling me it's not possible and if this rate was possible it has to be region specific. I'm not sure if the financing interest rate is a BMW corp thing or if some dealers are just trying to screw the customer to make an extra buck. |
