Do I correctly understand that;

You can have the BBK with the red calipers have installed after ordering the car, so it it will be delivered with the standard brakes with blue calipers and than change them?

I would like to see the HS with the red calipers.

Yes theoretically possible. But red brakes are short too and the list price is around 5'500€ in germany.

I'm assuming this isn't affecting US orders due to them setting aside the brakes for US orders since we can't order without them?

Tbh the dealer was pretty clueless on the brakes front and car in general, the demonstrator had them added, when I asked if they were standard the salesman said yes I only found out they weren’t through this forum. Out of curiosity what did adding them do for your monthly’s if you don’t mind. me asking?

I've told them to keep the M2 and I'm getting an M4 comp now with some healthy discount.

Its going end of life though.... and will have the same brakes... I had the choice between the two managed to get the dealership to almost match the M2 Competition quote for the M4 comp but didn’t want to have the last of the previous hen M4..... are you sure?

M4 is on 0% apr but that wasn't enough for me. M4 doesn't have the fun factor of the M2 and it has the same brakes as standards M2 anyway so if it's brakes you're annoyed about then why change?

And it's an outgoing model (thus 0% deals).

I originally wanted an m3 as I needed more space than the m2 but the deal wasn't good enough which is why I went for the comp. But with production of the m3 stopping that only left the m4 or take the m2 without the brakes, it wasn't just about the brakes though all the back and forth and things like that the M2 just lost it's shine for me and I don't want it any more it's hard to explain. In the long run the bigger car is probably better for me I work in Germany and do some travelling back and forth it won't go on track I've got an Evo for that. Plus the price I'm paying you couldn't get a second hand one for it.

I chopped in my M2 and my beloved M140i for the M3 Competition Pack I have now. Whilst I appreciate the 444bhp of the M3, it is just too damn big for my local Welsh roads. But it was supposed to be only a stop gap until the M2 Competition arrives with it's big brakes in November. But now I have a further 4 months to wait, so I am going to chop in the M3 for a pre-registered M140i.

I am picking up ! a new Up! GTI tomorrow and I bet that is quicker on my windy roads than the gargantuan M3 !

All M's are too big for UK rural minor A & B roads from 3 series up now IMO. I won't miss the M6GC for that reason.

The M2 is 8" wider and 2" shorter than an E46 M3 so you can hardly call it "small".

You will have a hoot in Wales in an Up! GTI. (which is probably bigger than a Mk1 golf?)

IDK how people drive bigger cars than M2s in Europe man...I felt soooo claustrophobic! ...especially when there was construction with the narrower temporary yellow lines. I wanted to drive with my mirrors folded in! Haha

Agreed...small and tiny cars are much preferred in Europe...in Australia it's the opposite where most people prefer bigger sedans or SUVs or Pickups...

Yes! Also buttocks clenched in a bid to somehow make the car narrower. This is probably why sunroofs are less popular in Europe as it makes you an inch or more taller when you do this depending on your ass-ets.

Yup, helps explain the popular hot hatch market.

Out of curiosity I asked to add them to my order. Dealer spoke to BMW and advised yesterday, if I want to see my car before Q3 2019 2NH brakes are a complete no go. As mentioned by others in the forum, BMW UK won’t even accept your order with 2NH added.

MP brakes fall into this as well, as I cheekily asked for them to be supplied at same price if this was the case!

If it’s something you really want to add I think it’s pretty rubbish, BMW have really dropped the ball on this one.
