Not at all. Launch the app, select veepeak in the device settings and hit connect.

1) plug the veepeak to the OBD port 2) launch bimmercode app, and connect to it thru that and NOT thru the iphone settings?

Exactly. Just don't forget to select the veepeak in the device settings of bimmercode/bimmerlink.

I just coded for the first time and it went without a hitch. One thing though was I wanted to change the confort turn signals to 4 blinks as 3 is the max setting in idrive but my car did not have "Indicator Cycles" as an option.

The possibility to change the duration of the one-touch turn signal has been removed from the software BMW and is no longer possible to change.

Yeah it looks like BMW is locking out some of this stuff on newer models. I have a late 2018 LCI and I have noticed I don't have some of the options available listed in this thread. I even tried expert coding the comfort turn signals and it's not working nor has some of the other expert tricks such as bringing out the "old" method of day/night backlight control in the HU. I can't get video in motion to work either.

Got a 2020 M2C last month. just coded bimmercode ($27) using
Vgate WiFi iCar2 OBDII Elm327 Code Reader ($16), lots of the usual stuff people have mentioned in this thread - including ASD delete. Some weird quirks - the instructions said to go into airplane mode, but it wouldn't connect when it was - so I tried it without and 0-1 bars of cellular connection, and it worked. ASD coding off happened with no issue, as well as the remote unlock / lock unfolding and folding the mirrors. The audio DOES sound more crisp and clear to my ears with ASD off. And, esp. in Sport Plus, the engine noise is noticeably quieter. I'm not sure how much I'll like it or not - I actually turned Soundaktor back to full on my Golf GTI because it doesn't use the sound system, and it sounded good. Because ASD does interfere and share the sound system, I will probably leave it off. All-in-all a very easy experience, and there really are a ton of customizable options in there. |

Airplane mode is just to prevent it from getting a phone call while coding.

Hello, just a quick one, I've just installed it for the M2 and I know it's each to they're own but any suggestions other then ASD off?
Is there a way to make the digital speedometer which is large on the LCI version also large on the OG? It's really small on my OG... |

This is pretty awesome. I coded my F30 and F80 the old school way. This almost takes the fun out of it. Glad I didn't do this for profit cause I'd be SOL!

Hi guys, my 2017 M2 has comfort access but I cannot see that option in bimmercode, I can see options to fold he mirrors on lock but there is nothing about comfort access options such as the delay time etc. Surely its not an expert option?

Think about this from the manufacturer's perspective. People that have no clue are modifying programming parameters that they think "shouldn't" affect anything else and maybe they don't but sometimes they do cause issues. Point is the manufacturer has to work from a known baseline with no known variables and the manufacturer is probably tired of eating "warranty" work.
As for the tech he's probably pissed b/c he's making less money by not working on the next car b/c he has to deal w/ghost issues that may or may not be owner caused. Land Rover won't even work on a car unless it has the current software installed, which great while under warranty but once out it costs a couple hundred bucks to update the car before they even look at your problem. |
