Funny, I saw your reply to me, came back to the thread, and your reply is on the real page 80. Who knows.
Now, back to how to play space invaders on iDrive 30 after coding with

Bimmercode Question
I'm going to install an Alcantara steering wheel cover and the carbon SW trim that requires me to disassemble the airbag etc. Before doing so disconnecting the negative battery terminal is suggested. Will or how would this affect my Bimmercode coding? TY.

You'll be fine disconnecting the battery, will not affect your coding.

Warning for those that don't know:
If you change a value marked "unknown" the function will NOT be able to be restored via backup. This happened to me just now changing some PDC/Rearview camera settings. Now I have to restore the REM back to stock with ESYS and redo a bunch of stuff. Pain in the ass. You've been warned! |

Two questions for those of you familiar with the BimmerCode app.
1. Can I safely have coding changes in place from both Carly and BimmerCode at the same time? I've already made most of the changes I wanted to make to the car using my Carly app & adapter, but there are a few other changes I'd like to make that only seem to be available through BimmerCode. 2. Can the M4 GTS MDM coding for the dct be done through Bimmercode's long coding section? Sorry if these questions have already been asked & answered, but 80 pages is a lot to sort through. |

MDM is coding for your differential. DCT flash is for your transmission. GTS MDM has to be coded via ESYS. GTS DCT flash must be done via a tune, has nothing to do with coding. The DME has to be unlocked. |

Yeah I was just reading about that earlier. Have you ever compared it to the euro cs steering software some people are running?

I haven't b/c my istep/esys version only allowed the GTS option to be displayed for whatever reason. There was no M2CS EPS setting available. That being said I find the GTS one to be a huge improvement over stock. It's much lighter and more linear. Doesn't feel artificially heavy and it makes it much easier to drive with one hand. Worth trying out. Can always switch back if you don't like it.

The bimmercode dev seems to suggest using the veepeak OBDCheck Bluetooth 4.0 (high production quality, high transmission rate, low price) or the kiwi 3 (high production quality, high transmission rate, high reliability, high price) over the Vgate iCar 2 Wi-Fi (unsteady transmission rate, very low price) most seem to be currently using.
Why is the Vgate iCar 2 so popular around here? this is not the adapter I would buy today if I follow bimmercode’s FAQ and suggestions. Did bimmercode just change their recommandation? both the veepak and the Vgate are available on amazon.ca and their price is almost the same. |

I thought I’d share this info in case new members are looking at this thread for the first time, since the Veepak has never been mentioned here as far as I know. Though, Stephen did not explicitely explained how “better” bluetooth with Veepak is versus wifi with Vgate. |

Without being too cynical - it appears from the discount code on his site that there may be a referral fee / commission on the Veepak model. Not to say it isn't better, but also worth mentioning.
