Lightweight wheels - what is our choice?
Guys, we all know the wheels are an issue when it comes to weight. We want to go lighter on a competition car, not heavier. I want to go considerably lower to counteract the 16 kg of extra weight that the brake kit adds.
I had a look around and I was a bit fooled by the fact that the BBS C-HR wheels are so freaking heavy. I was expecting lightweight from BBS, not that they are touching 26/27 lbs. The aim is to go for 8-9 kg which is roughly 18-20 lbs to make a real difference. The 763M wheels are pretty much brilliant for that, but there must be more options in the market: 9.41 kg / 20.75 lbs. What options do we have guys? Any thoughts? MR |

Basically as follows
HRE alle forged - they all are 7-9 kgs, but expansive BBS FIR - my favourite ones! Only 7.5 kgs also expansive Then japanese wheels are also very light - yokohama advan wheels for instance. Usually if you go forged you cannot go wrong, only to mention these are expansive. P.s.: I doubt 788 wheels are forged. |

Don’t forget to weigh the tyres too. They can be 2kg+ difference per tyre depending on brand and type. |

However, when I am at the BMW Welt on September 17th, I will ask them for proof -- in whatever form they can supply -- that the 788 wheels are forged. And if you are right, then when we next visit Prague, the beer is on me! BTW, I bought a set of Audi Q5 takeoff wheels (18") to use as my winter wheels for my 2010 Audi S4, and they were made in the Czech Republic. |

Some of the people who complain about the price increase of the M2C vs. the original -- USD $4.5k -- are the same ones planning to spend thousands more on such dubious upgrades. What does $4.5k get you vs. 2018? 40 more HP, 40 more LB FT of torque, better brakes, and the mustache grille. People, that is a bargain! The Porsche 911 Carrera S costs $14k more than the regular 911 Carrera. And for that you get 50 more HP and 37 more LB FT of torque. Speaking of the 788 wheels and their detractors, and speaking of Porsche, check this: https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...-997-for-sale/ I wonder how much they weigh? |

Not sure why BMW continues to put heavier wheels on Competitions, first E9x, then F8x, now F87.
Any budget or price not an issue? |

Carbon revolution wheels. Probably the best in terms of sizing and weight savings.
