We now have 4 different M2C's with 29U Black wheels. The 4th confirmation, member Lotus99 delivered M2C. It has the same wheels, they are 29U Black wheels. They are the correct wheel, it is now definitive.

3rdPedalAddict made a good observation in another thread. The bi-color 788M will most likely look like the 719M bi-color.

Silver machine face, with black inserts.

Yes I think you're right, they are going to look great if they look like the 719M finish.

Guys this is really simple. Go to your BMW dealer and look at the “new” M3/M4 666M wheels. That is exactly what the black M2C wheels look like. The 2QT is bi colour (black inside) but the surface is a bright aluminium look just like the original 666M wheels.

...but that's not what the visual evidence has presented us. It seems the "black" wheels are barely black and can be mixed up with the 2QT option easily.

The problem is that the dealer doesn’t now how the wheels are! They said that the wheels are full black...

We need real life pictures of both wheels, on the same day and with the same camera/lighting conditions. Then we will be able to see the true difference.

They will be easily distinguishable once we actually get a real pic of 2QT. In fact just look at the 719M bicolor above side by side with 29U 788M.

Yes thats true. But i put my order in on 1st of june and SLOWLY but CERTAINLY i should known what i want (or what i‘vse seen is what after all?) because soon i can‘t change my order anymore and untill then every change in order could have a reschedule of my order as consequence.

I‘m REALLY pissed now!

You know, it's really funny, but I thought so too when I first saw the 788's. And then, slowly but surely, I kept looking at more and more pictures of them, and weirdly they started growing on me. Now, I can't stand any of the other wheels and love the way the 788's look. Same with HS. When I first saw pictures, I thought, "Why in the world would BMW use that as the exclusive color for the M2C? NO WAY am I getting that." After a few weeks... I think HS is my favorite color in the world.

Amazing how getting used to something can change your mind. I've seen several other folks post saying something along the lines of, "Why not get the 788's, and if you really decide you don't like them, you can sell them and buy another set?" Makes sense to me. I suspect the 788's will be more rare so easy to sell on the secondary market.

This is from the new zealand guide..... i see almost everyone who ordered this car with 788M wheels something between sursprised and disappointed. Those who ordered black wheels will get most likely that what we have seen so far, but not the all black wheels they wanted and those who ordered silver won‘t get what they have seen so far but think is silver...

WELL PLAYED BMW....

I disliked the 788 wheel when the M2C launched, now I think it fits the car perfectly.

Don't kid yourself, that'll just confuse everyone even more.

In all honesty I can't believe this is still a thing. We have overwhelming proof that the wheels we've been seeing all along are the black wheels. The regular wheels will simply have a bright silver face as opposed to the shadow tint face of the black wheels.

I could care less which ones I end up with, those suckers are getting power coated black asap.

Yup I agree on the difference and I don't give a shit either even though I ordered the "black" wheels. Mine will be up for sale immediately and be replaced by 763Ms.

At first glance, looking at this car I thought that the wrong wheel had been put on the car but after all the input from various people chiming in, I now realize that the WHOLE wheel isn't black which is what I thought I had ordered. I am really looking forward to my September 20th delivery and believe that with an Alpine white exterior it may have an illusion on the black wheels appearing more black. Regardless, once i see the car I may elect to powercoat the wheels gloss black but will reserve judgement till I take delivery.

Yes, That would be a better test. Also it wouldn't hurt to lock down the exposure.

This is all just craziness. The "black" wheels in the NZ configurator look nothing like the 29U black wheels in photos. The middle "regular" 788M wheels look like the wheels that have been confirmed 29U "black" 788M wheels. People that don't frequent forums and order black wheels from NZ are going to get a big surprise on delivery day.
