Think a touch-up pen will suffice?
the guys at my garage scraped a bit of my driver's side front bumper, and now that my initial rage has subsided, it's time for damage control..
these are fairly small marks, but pretty deep. a touch up pen should do the trick, right?? respraying the whole bumper seems like overkill.. any and all thoughts appreciated! -Crumb |

Actually, you'll probably be better off with several layers of http://drcolorchip.com/. On my previous AW 135i I had a ding similar to what you have and applied several layers of this product and it ended looking not at all bad. The area was still noticeable if you looked for it, but it was not visible to the casual glance.

+1 on Dr colorchip... clean the scuff with some good compound, wipe wth alcohol and the apply the Dr. it'll take a few application but the stuff works great.

used Dr.Colorchip based on recommendations from this forum, and holy crap: amazing.
Couldn't be easier to use, and perfect results. Wish this car wasn't getting more rock chips than ALL my previous cars combined though |

2+ on Dr. colorchip; I have already used on 5 stone chips on my VO (before the 3M--I hope that stuff is good!) and my wife's Jag; slightly visible on mine, perfect on hers! Real easy to use.

I would look into getting the garage to pay for the damage. Which garage it? What's the name?

First make sure that this is not just paint transfer (black/dark mark on top of clear coat). Some times you can tell with your nail. You can use a compound like Meguiars Ultimate Compound and buff the transfer off.

BTW the garage in question wouldn't happen to be on the far west side in Chelsea would it? I've seen a AW 1M parked there a few times while i'm out jogging. |

Thanks for all the input guys, it looks like Dr. Colorchip is the way to go.
I've been using a champion garage on the upper east side. I've been in a protracted battle with management to get reimbursed for the damage (the entire rear bumper has taken a lot of dings and requires an entire repaint). They've offered to take the car to their shop for all the repairs, but no way in hell i'm letting some dude drive my car to their shop for a quick and dirty repair. I guess this is just the type of nonsense one must expect from parking in NYC, but it' still infuriating - NYC just isn't nice to cars..i've got to move out west! -Crumb |
