Quick and easy Garage Door Opener DIY
Here's a quick and easy DIY for your garage door opener. Since my nearly $50K car didn't come with Homelink I had to find a place for my garage door opener. I don't like how it looks on the visor, and the clip on the remote doesn't let the visor sit flat anyway.
So I realized that it fits perfectly in the ash tray spot with the insert removed (my remote is pretty small, they should be available at any hardware store if yours is too big). I pulled the plastic insert out, put some double sided tape on the back of the remote to prevent rattling around and it was done. The ashtray door closes fine, and it will remain to be seen if it doesn't rattle. It's also very accessable to reach the buttons but you can't see it. And I don't smoke.........so I didn't need the ashtray anyway! Here's a crappy pic to show what I'm talking about. Let me know if there are any questions.

This is a good DIY... I dont like how easily this compartment opens up, I have tried to lay something on top of it and it just pops right up removing my 'said something' out of the way!

Dunno, maybe you don't have a 2 car garage.......I'm constantly using the remote when coming and going.

lol my uses a wireless pock sensor so although we paid for a homelink mirror, it was worthless to us. nice idea though some people probably needed that hint.
