Either option uses the same 3.5mm jack for the audio, so the sound quality would be identical.

Your car's Head Unit plays back the music from a USB storage device. It's the same thing as having a card reader. iPod connectivity using the aux port is using macs ipod for amplification and drives the music to your car's head unit. iPods are a playback device (ie Sony Walkman). USB devices are a storage medium like thumb drives, hard drives, CD's, cassette, records, etc. Storage devices quality is only determined by the medium stored on that device. |
