That’s like comparing a 911 Turbo to the M2 except in the opposite direction. Supra is a detuned coupe version of the Z4. It’s a half a notch up from the 86.

The front of the new Z4, err I mean Supra, is ugly AF. Also it only comes in an auto. Not even a DCT. If it came in a DCT I would consider it. But ultimately, I'm sticking with my M2C order unless something crazy happens.

Well the Acura is almost 3x the cost and the GTR is over 2x the cost. It's like putting an M2C next to an AMG GT R and a Porsche GT3 RS and laughing at the M2C. Not really funny unless you are talking about how pathetic the sales of the NSX (sold only 170 all of 2018) and GTR (sold just over 500 in 2018) are then it's funny. Supra will outsell both of those combined in a matter of months.

I like the look of the Supra. However, if I get one, I would definitely utilize a BMW LP holder for the LP.

Exactly. Why not get a decently priced BMW - just happens to have a Supra body and Toyota badge. I'll take a gray one.

It’s tough for me though. Price is going to come close to M2C. Different category car, yes. It would be a home run if it had the 385hp variant and a stick. |

ZF 8spd is a little bit dull. Similar as M5/Giulia QV uses?
Interior gauges are ugly and the infotainment screen still sticks out like in 2010. Other than that I find it pretty cool. Long hood and a hatch! I also find that having only 2 seats is a plus Would I take it over M2? Probably not as base Cayman is similar in price. I can live with the sound of 718. |

I'll most likely be picking one up later this year to go along with the M2C. I have a BRZ that needs replacement. Can compare then.

The automatic is faster? Great. What's the point of going fast again? Oh yeah, because its fun. The ultimate objective is fun, not speed, when it comes to sports cars. (Supercars are another matter, i get why the latest and greatest Mclarens ferraris and lambos only come fast shifting paddle gearboxes, like it or not, those cars are sold to people with impressive acceleration numbers and N-ring laptimes.) And i get why you'd OFFER a sports car with an auto or a DCT, some people will use the car for commuting, some people can't drive stick and some people even genuinely think that the latest DCT is more fun and engaging (i don't understand HOW They can think that, but i'm not here to judge) But not even offering the option to have a shortcut to smile town is just bizarre to me on a sports car. I couldn't be more disappointed with Toyota as a former Toyota owner. |

I'm just saying if the primary stated mission of your vehicle is "fun" you should probably at least offer the more entertaining/engaging choice of transmission. |

I agree. I would much rather the DCT in this car than the ZF8. I know the ZF has come a long way and is close to DCT performance but you still see lots of reviews with the ZF where the transmission gets confused and is slow to respond at times. I think it's a bad move because I would take a DCT over a manual any day of the week but if it's between a manual and a ZF I'm not so sure as it's just not a sports car transmission.
