I went straight for 3 disks myself.. engages straight off the floor though the advice of testing where that engagement point is a good thought.

Dragging this post up as this is an essential item for manual drivers. Wow what a difference! I stuck with all the rubber washers and it's perfect. Took me a minute to adjust my throttle foot to how quickly the clutch engages now.
Thanks for the rec and the vid! |

Installed one. Installing it was not as easy for me though. First find the hole (using only touch) - in a position lying with the back on the floor. Removing the BWM installed washer was no problem. But this BMS - the fit is a little bit to "thick", so a lot of pressure and a lot of wiggling was needed... It took me some hour to get the whole thing in - with a aching thumb as result
But in the end - it feels really good. Ended up removing one of the washers (to be safe). |

For anyone that has tried this on a recent build M2 Comp it looks like the clutch stop is in a different position to what i have seen in youtube videos that show how to replace the M2 clutch stop.
All the videos show the clutch stop accessed via some rubber flaps. It looks like on mine it is just exposed behind the clutch pedal? Is this the clutch stop ? I have included 2 photos with the existing white rubber stopper in place and 1 photo after removing it. If this is the clutch stop then the BMS replacement clutch stop doesn't seem to fit? |

Did you remove the little white thing before trying to put the bms one in? You do have to really force it.

1. The diameter of the 'screw' as delivered from BMS is around 7.5mm 2. By gently sliding the thread back and forth on some fine grit sandpaper on all 4 sides of the 'screw' I took the diameter down to approx 6mm. I also cut about half the length off the 'screw' with a box cutter. 3. By pressing the modified BMS clutch stop hard against the clutch stop hole underneath the pedals and rotating it at the same time I was able to get it part of the way in. I then pressed down hard on the clutch pedal a few times to get it fully seated. Not sure whether my difficulty is related to this being a right hand drive Australian delivered car or if all the 2021 M2 Comps are this difficult but I don't see how anyone would easily fit this BMS clutch stop without some kind of modification or significant brute force. It should ideally come with a screw of smaller diameter to properly fit. Not ideal but got there in the end. Took the car for a drive. Have to press the clutch really hard when starting the car for the car to 'know' that the clutch is depressed, so with all the washers it shortens the clutch travel about as far as is possible. Edit: Half the time the car wouldn't start at first attempt with all the washers fitted to the clutch stop because the car wasn't registering that the clutch was pressed so removed 1 washer and seems to be fine now. |

I recently installed the new clutch stop on a 2020 M2C. While difficult to push in beyond the first 1/4", I turned it clockwise to "screw" it in the rest of the way. This worked fine for me. Also, I didn't notice that I had to depress the pedal any harder with 3 discs installed for the car to start. YRMV.

and to confirm what other have said on this thread and elsewhere -- this is the easiest mod EVER! literally took me 2 minutes to do it. it definitely helps to start the install by twisting/screwing the post. after 3-4 good twists, just give it a firm/constant push with your thumb.

I used this $15 Ebay special. Yeah it's $5 more than BMS, but ships free, and uses metal washers where BMS apparently uses plastic or something else.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/230519560074 I've used this same piece in 4 different cars now. Such a huge improvement for so little $$.

Did this "mod" yesterday and used 2 spacers. Seems about right. I think a third spacer would have not left any dead pedal travel at all, and I was actually a little concerned with 2 spacers that it was too much. But after driving a bit today, I think 2 was the right amount.
Like someone else above, my clutch stop was a really tight fit, to the point where I couldn't push any further with still about 1/4" left. The pro tip is just to use the clutch pedal itself to finish seating it all the way - that worked great.

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=758323 However, I'm sure BMS moves a lot more inventory with its name, and even more so with reviews like this.
