Hey yall


I have a massive series of videos coming out for the F87, from incredibly detailed like crank hub upgrade, to really as simple as you get like this clutch stop.

Sincerely though, I am really blown away at the benefits of this, and probably the best $10 I will ever spend on the car. I am a 6MT driver pretty much forever, but found I was struggling a little with proper feather clutch blend coming out of 1st gear especially with the F87. This clutch eliminates any issues completely, reducing pedal throw just enough that it engages pretty much just as it comes off the floor.

Honestly really worth it.. imho

Yeah, I started with full spacers to feel the full impact and dial back as needed.

on my e46 N52 and e91 N54 I removed 1 spacer and installed BMS clutch stop with 2 spacers - worked a treat to reduce dead-zone at bottom of clutch travel without any clutch drag....

I went with two spaces on the M2C (it comes with 3). The BMS clutch stop took 90 seconds to install on my previous M240i but for some reason with the M2C I spent almost 20 minutes just trying to get the damn thing all the way into the slot. No idea why it was so difficult this time around.

Long time lurker, first time poster.... I have to agree ! This was a simple mod with a huge upside. I started with 2 spaces, thinking about using all 3 though.

Yeah it was a PITA for me until I was able to finally find that it needs to be put in at a perfectly straight approach and i couldn't see the angle needed without getting way up under there.

Just installed it tonight with 2 spacers. We'll see how it feels tomorrow!

It's based on feel, if you like the way it feels at 3 then use 3, if you like 2 use 2, or even 1.

I want to also make an extra clarification, some people have reported rough or notchy shifts from 1-2 with the clutch stop installed. If you are experiencing this remove a shim or 2.


Also when installing the clutch stop do what I call a clutch engagement test:

1) The simplest method is to get on a flat level surface then engage 1st gear with the clutch fully depressed. Then rev up the engine a bit and slowly let out the clutch and see if you have any clutch travel space before the car starts to creep. This will show if your clutch is disengaged. If you have no clutch travel space that is not good and you need to remove a shim. That's shouldn't really be the case because it has been noted there is alot of dead pedal in these cars.

2) Perform the same thing as 1 but on a jack with the rear wheels lifted, this will enable the rear wheels to spin easier which will be even more accurate in measuring if indeed the clutch is disengaged with the clutch stop in place.

There's supposed to be a clutch inspection window to see engagement, but when I was under the car all I saw was a little window to secure the fly wheel - I couldn't really see anything through that. But if we had an inspection window that would be a sure determination of clutch engagement.

If you can select first when stationary then the clutch is not engaged even a little.

If found with 3 spacers it was right on the start of engagement and if I didn't push the pedal down hard it was dragging and wouldn't go into 1st.

2 spacers was just fine..
