Question on allocation week vs actual build week
Hi all!
I finally pulled the trigger and placed an order for an M2 Competition last Sunday! My dealer had an allocation so I placed a deposit to secure it and walked out with a Vehicle Inquiry Report with a Production Number. My order is currently in status 111 (Order Accepted) and I was told the build week of the allocation is 21 (week of May 20th). My dealer also stated that production will probably end sooner then the allocation's week since the order is now in Priority 1 (Customer Sold). I am guessing the actual build week would get assigned when the order moves form status 111 to 112? My questions for everyone are: how common is it for the actual production week get moved up from the allocated week? Also, how much time have your orders sat in code 111 before moving to 112? Thanks in advance for your comments! |

Moderately common, depends on how AG wants to prioritize for the upcoming productions cycles.
Can be 1 day to 2 week. If you were getting an individual option (which you cannot on the M2C anyway) it can take weeks. Just depends. I would check with BMW Genius or your CA.m every 2-3 days.

Don't forget, the allocation week is when estimated production will be completed, so the build will start 1-2 weeks prior.

Thanks for everyone’s replies. This info is great. My order flipped to Scheduled for Production - 112 on 4/26 (I placed the order on 4/14). The automated line says scheduled for production with no confirmed date, but the live person on the Genius line says it’s still targeted for build week 21. Hoping that gets bumped up a bit

Nice. Hope you are not too far behind. FYI, my order is still in Production Begins (150) as of today and still has a 5/10 estimated completion date. Not sure if it the website which is slow to update or some other holdup.

Using my M2 build as a gauge, it appears there is ~ 2 weeks between 112 & 150. Just hoping we don't get held up by the knee airbag issue. Guessing not b/c we're about to go into assembly.

Yeah.. hoping it will not be an issue for cars going into production as well.
Btw, your timeline is super helpful. Looks like your spent some time in 150 then everything was completed updated on the same day. Guessing the same will happen on my end. Thanks again. |

Look at us, pacing around the waiting room like expectant fathers. Mine, also just went into labor...uh...I mean production...today.
I hope they are all delivered with the proper...cough...exterior shade. Good luck. |

Ha, yeah. I think we are all doing a bit more pacing with this airbag issue putting a pause on things

Looks like my car is being built today! Status on My Garage says Entering Assembly Line, which I believe is status 153. The estimated completion date was set to 5/10 last week when was in status 150. I’ll take this as a sign that production is moving forward for May builds and those may not be impacted by the airbag issue.

So I was at this party right, and this chick was all eyeballing me like "what's up?" and I was like "hey girl, what's up wit you?" and she's with her bff who's like, all into guys who drive BMW's. So while me and the chick are having aggressive optical intercourse, my ear starts to tingle and feel like its being dipped in warm oatmeal, and the corner of my eye catches the corner of the BFF's eye who's trenulum deep in my earhole. Now I got one eye dancing between the chicks eyes my other eye is kickin it with the BFF's eye, and I'm looking like Igor.
The BFF inquires softly in my soggy ear if I got a "bimma" and I'm all like "nah baby, but I got one on order"... She spins me around and does this thing... ...and I'm like whoa girl, "how did you make your cheek bump out like that" and she's all like "let me show you"...I was like "I don't think that's how you supposed to play a flute" Seeing how she really didn't have a flute,I believe her tongue was in her cheek. |

Jokes aside, my estimated completion date is Wednesday, 15 May so I'll be getting very little sleep tonight.
