Just back home from the event in Brussels.
The M2 CS is a actually a M2 competition with all the M-Performance Carbon Parts on it... I’ve expected more exterior differences... Some info: - 40hp extra - Carbon hood, Carbon trunk, Carbon roof, Carbon splitter, Carbon diffusor, Carbon rear spoiler (like the M4CS) - Special brakes with red callipers, gold as an option - 19” M performance wheels 763m in black, gold as an option - Limited to 2200 cars - Available colors: Misano Blue, Alpine White, Hochenheim Silver & Black Saphire - Price: +/- 95.000 euro The exposed car was in Misano Blue with gold wheels & red callipers. |

Nothing new which we didn't know... Maybe the vented hood, but that is not that special really.
- Performance upgrade is 40hp extra - Carbon hood, carbon roof, carbon splitter, carbon diffuser, Carbon rear spoiler (like the M4CS)... I don't see this working with a carbon trunk??? I think there is no carbon trunk - Special brakes with red calipers, gold as an option. These special brakes are carbon ceramics and those are normally gold. The red brakes could be the M Sport brake kit with red brake calipers - 19" M performance wheels 763m in black, gold as an option - Limited to 2200 cars - Available colors: Misano Blue, Alpine White, Hochenheim Silver & Black Sapphire - Price: +/- 95.000 euro I am happy I made my own car. I am not fuzzed about this package at all. Only thing I want is the ECU file for the steering, the gearbox and the engine performance. MR |

The blue paint with the gold wheels and red brakes was not my taste at all (Subaru Impreza style indeed). But still the M2 CS package looked really cool (if you forget about the blue/gold/red color combination). Sadly there is indeed no Mineral Grey color and so I would personally go for everything black. I'm also not a fan of the striking red M sport brakes...but I understand why they are fitted on the M2 CS (because red brakes are different then the silver M2 comp brakes and also red is more sporty like the interior accents ) I must say (besides the shown color) I really liked the look and visual impact of the M2 CS. It's a cool car! Would be even cooler if the rear trunk spoiler would be integrated in the trunk (as like on the M3 CSL). The front CRFP hood with vent opening is a bit tuning for me and did not convince me...but it's functional and on a black car this would no be so obvious to see. Everything else looked really wel and was not over the top for a daily car (besides the blue color of the show car ofcourse). True; the interior has nothing really unique besides the red stitching, M4 CS seats, more "wet" carbon and the normal CS touches as seen in the M4 CS. The CS seats sit really good and are also available in manual adjustment. Coming from a normal M2 it still felt nice and a more special place then in my car. When comparing again to the GT4...the GT4 interior is also not that different or more special then a normal Cayman if you don't spec the clubsport package and bucket seats in a GT4. IMO the M2 CS is the perfect combination of street <-> track <-> comfort <-> practical. I can not think of another car on the market that has this combination so well balanced. M4/M3 CS are to big in my opinion and no manual gearbox option. GT4 has no rear seats, less practicality, less low profile look then a BMW M. The normal M2 was already a car that had this street <-> track combination nicely judged, but it is still mainly a street car in standard form. The M2 CS is a bit more focused for track without being to extreme for daily street use. The electronic adjustable dampers on the suspension are also a nice addition (no coilovers, so it's not height adjustable). I'm really curious about the oncoming reviews next year. For me; a "manual" M2 CS would indeed be the perfect all in one car for daily usage and my current track needs...but the price of admission is to pricey for me Limited edition a side; I don't know if the M2 CS is worth that much more money when comparing it to the M2 Comp....? A standard 718 GT4 is indeed about the same money here (a bit more expensive + more tax). But a 718 GT4 would be a second car for me (and I think for most people). With a M2 CS I would not need/want a GT4 anymore and I would have a 2 in one car for all my "car" needs. In a perfect "car" world I would have my current M2 as my daily and a GT4 for track and special moments As stated we needed to put our phones in bags when viewing of the M2 CS started. I can understand and respect the reason behind this. Out of respect; I did not try to make pictures. IMO that's not nice to do when you are invited on a event and people ask you not to take pictures inside the closed room. It was a fun event and it was really nice to meet the living M encyclopedia Artemis. Walking around the M2 CS with him and he pointing me out all the details + telling me detailed stuff about the car was a real pleasure.

Dear forum fellows,
This message to inform you that earlier this evening, people in charge of the M2 CS preview event in Brussels (BMW Belux) did not authorize me to disclose information about the M2 CS on display. At the beginning of the event, I reached out to people in charge of this event to ask them whether they would mind that, after the event, I'd post a detailed write-up on Bimmerpost about the M2 CS on display. I ensured that I would not take pictures. In a courteous conversation they explained that they did not want me to disclose information. They expressed their appreciation that I had reached out to them with my request. One of them gave me his business card. I understand their point of view and will respect their decision. As a guest with good manners, I am grateful for having had the opportunity to see the M2 CS up close and will abide/observe the host's non-disclosure decision. I will share my thoughts at a later stage (after the official M2 CS release). Sorry, but it is what it is. Let's respect that. Cheers, -A- Quote:

Thank you Artemis
Also thank you Franzino for your detailed information. I think a same Nurburgring time of 7:42 as a 981 GT4 is very decent for m2 cs. Also, if m2 cs is really 1500 kg, imho it would be a huge success, it will be amazing. bmwusa.com listed 6MT m2c curb weight of 3600 lbs, which is 1633 kg. I thoroughly test drove an M2C DCT, and I am amazed by it. Now imagine an M2C minus 130KG, and 40 more hp. Yummy... I'm just curious how did they take out 130 kg out of m2c to make m2cs? carbon body bits here and there is like 25kg less? maybe 763 wheel and CCB 10 - 20kg? Where else did they lose weight? exhaust? (Lack of ) weight is a deal breaker for me. Is there anyone else could confirm the weight of M2CS please? Can you please help me on this one? Artemis |

can people confirm heated wheel ?
Door straps ? As wild as it sounds the lack of heated wheel makes the m2comp more attractive for personal needs. But the upgrades exhaust from the factory is a real treat in my opinion (they usually get a good exhaust note ) |

I was under the impression the weight in the EU of a M2 Comp is 1.550kg..? So if these numbers are correct and the info guy was also correct, then this would mean the manual M2 CS would have lost 50kg. Sounds realistic.
