F80 m3 is the first BMW I have yet to use it on after reading all the crank hub threads.

There have been 2 - 2018 MY that have slipped at the local dealership.
The 100% fix is to key it. I sent a customers engine to Carbahn Autoworks for a full build. Steve Dinan does a few others modifications aside from keying it that he says helps aid the failure. I don't know about the kits being sold by a few companies here on the forums |

So I did some reading up on this issue. As stated before, a lot of the issues were from early MY14/15 tuned cars, and possibly the DCT aggressiveness.
I may have overlooked this, and feel free to point me in the right direction but I failed to see the issue documented on high HP N55s....but it's a carryover part to the S55?? Those tuned S55s must have been hitting super hard with that kick down function! ...and what's also crazy is that it's happened to people in stock form? |

We have installed a few Gintani kits now with great success for the S55.
We indeed had a 6spd 18 comp no mods spin the hub, 1,800 miles... While in warranty I wouldn't worry much about the hub, others have mentioned that this is a very small amount of cars on the road but we also don't know the exact amount of cars affected since we only have what is stated on the forums. |

Looks like just 1 person with an M2c had a spun crank hub.

Never heard of N55 M2 but also because we don't see any above 550whp yet

I've heard of more stock cars than tuned cars, but the most it seems they're using kickdown driving with traction on. Very well documented Factory Weakness

N54 have had the issue as well, not as much though. There have been some cases on forums of N54's jump timing. N54 uses some of same crank hub parts as the S55/N55. S55 and N55 share the exact same crank hub parts. Vargas who produces the spline lock fix, has seen it happen on all three engines.

The M4 GT4 uses the same engine with no further enforcement on the bolt or gets a keyed crank hub yet these engines run close to 500hp on their most aggressive map (USB stick).
Very strange that we never heard about any racing team complained about the SCH The short block replacement is 30,000km racing mileage https://www.bmw-motorsport.com/conte...7626558586.pdf |

I'd been trying to find out what motorsport S55's were doing about this.
If it was a weekspot then racing would show that for sure. Maybe race S55 runs a lightweight damper rather than the big heavy road car damper? So you don't have all that inertia issue? |
