My OG OEM+ Build Thread
Sold June of 2021
Hey all. Just realized I've had this car for a while (since Dec '16) and never made a thread documenting all of my modifications. A lot of it is coding and cosmetic stuff because my goal with this build is to be OEM+. I'm not interested in making it the fastest thing on the street nor do I want it to be the car that stands out the most; I just want it to look and behave the way I personally feel it should've left the factory. In the spirit of that mentality, I've tried to keep most of my mods as subtle and stock-looking as possible. I've included hyperlinks for every part and DIY where possible. Thanks for looking! It's impressive so many things you did with attention into the details, and yet the car turns out OEM clean and beautiful. I'm a big fan of OEM+ mentality.
And it's been a blessing for the community to have you.

Amazing build thread! I especially love the delivery day picture with your dad. Reminds me of the day I bought my first BMW.
You officially convinced me I need to sell my M40i and get an M2. |

Nice car, nice shots! Really like the links, too. That took some work. Really appreciate it.
That cdv delete, is it really a straight swap with the stock slave? The link does not list the M2 as a car it will work with, but it works fine? |

It's an e90 part and yes it's plug and play. Literally identical but without the restrictor.

But if you've done it, and it fits, and works right, then that's the answer... |

Well it's technically an E90 part not an F87 part according to bmw so yeah it's not going to be listed as compatible for that reason alone, regardless of if it fits or not. That's how the compatibility check works.

I prefer OEM+ -- any time I get bored and want some new little detail for my car, I'll just refer back to this list.
BTW, do you get hassled for no front plate in NJ? (Or do you just remove it for pictures?) |

I've only gotten one no plate ticket since taking delivery (2016) and it was added on to a moving violation. This isn't my daily driver so not worried about it being a frequent issue. My F30 has a front plate. |

Great build! love how you documented all of it as well, sometimes it's hard to remember the little details as time goes by
