Why is there no carbon on drivers exhaust tips ? Are they fake?!

I've heard that is due to the exhaust valve being on the drivers side only. So if you don't drive the car hard in sport mode, the flap will stay closed so little carbon on those tips?

Have a look at the piping to the exhaust: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1214307

Flow direction is biased to the passenger side.

The valve open and close even on sport. The valve is on the drivers side. I disabled the valve and the passenger side still has a little more carbon. The path of least resistance is still on the passenger side. They aren't fake.

Does keeping the valve open require coding, disconnecting a wire harness, mechanically holding something open, or...?

seconded. I have the exhaust valve delete kit and the passenger side is still favored for carbon buildup.
