Sorry - missed this - there was a shipping screw up and they sent me the wrong part. I've only had the correct bolts for a couple days and haven't had a chance to go to somewhere to find the right size torx socket yet. A 13mm standard socket fits on it quite nicely in case that tells you anything. I'll probably find time this weekend

I did the Rear Parking Assist Sensor button mod (i got lucky and found the module on eBay for $30 USD shipped). Works brilliantly and easy plug and play (i did swap out the Sport\Eco Pro and Sport\Comfort buttons)
https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1345311(Parking Sensor on\off thread) **Note: I believe the latest software firmware update eliminates the need for the above I had already done the rear and front fog mod via BimmerCode. I was fine using the Blank buttons, but when searching for the Parking Assist button on eBay, I stumbled across a guy here in the US that was selling his Euro spec Light Switch that had the graphics and illuminated front\rear buttons (got it for super cheap). Now I knew the actual housing wouldn't fit on my Pre-LCI, but my plan was to swap the circuit board (as the Euro has an LED for both fog lights) and swap the blank buttons with the graphics one; The circuit board clipped on just fine on the PreLCI housing, HOWEVER, the buttons with graphics did not as they are a few mm too short. I was about to sell it on here as it would fit in and work on an LCI M2 (and maybe other LCI BMW F-series) without modification, but I figured out a way to sandwich the light switch on the panel. The electronics was plug and play and everything worked! There's a tiny gap you can see if you're up close, low, and looking from the side, but from normal driving seated position it doesn't look too bad at all in my opinion! https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1450178 (Rear Fog Light thread) https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1691279 (Front Fog Light thread) Last edited by StarMan; 05-07-2020 at 06:28 PM.. |

I coded it so that the front fog button controls my side markers when the parking\headlights are on. I'll have it off most of the time because i think it looks better without the amber sidemarkers (turn signal remains operational though), but if the weather is bad, i'll turn on the side markers with a push of a button. (you can also program it so that the angle eyes can be at full brightness with a push of a button instead).

Nothing too exciting here. I had it in for it's 30k service after getting the brake fluid done about 2 weeks back. I only do like 10\year so if I'd waited a week I'd be footing the bill and not BMW, so that worked out.
They also replaced (warranty) the driver's side door sill trim as it started to whiten as some do. They'd replaced my passenger side about 2 years back. They had the part in stock so no 2nd trip. That was cool. There are always some great ideas on this thread. I may do the LED front turn signals. I currently have the Philips SilverVision lamps that look silver but light amber, which gives the housing a nice white look, but I really like LEDs.

Made a 3D printed adaptor for those narrow cans and bottles that don't like spirited driving

I haven't done a damn thing to the M2 other than drive it. Might be in for new rear tires soon.
