I hate it actually if I'm honest. You have to cut your undertray to pieces in order to get it to fit, and when it goes under your front bumper lip it actually pushes your front bumper lip down a bit so it's harder to fit a lip. Disclaimer, I installed this myself in my garage so maybe I'm an ogre and I did it wrong. But having to cut the undertray and half use that plus the fall line piece is just... not great design in my opinion.
Great feedback. That TMS one i had on the M3 was so incredibly heavy as well. Are there posted weights of each to see the difference? I'll watch out for your update on your build thread.

Hmm I'd have to look but my shipping weight is 13lbs for the Turner. Take out a few lbs for cardboard and maybe it's 9lbs? The FallLine is definitely more than that.

The turner one is Aluminum and Fall line Steel. The turner one prob weighs 10lbs. I'll weight mine this week

I have both the Fall Line and Turner M2C skid plates

Haven't decided yet which one I'm going to install

There are pros and cons to both

The Fall Line is more expensive, a little heavier and probably a bit more difficult to install

However, being made from thick stainless steel it is more robust and should offer more impact protection for the oil cooler

The Turner is less expensive, a little lighter, looks easier to install and the side pieces provide some additional coverage underneath

However, being made from relatively thin aluminum it will offer less impact protection

In fact, I had to exchange the first Turner skid plate I was sent for another as it managed to get damaged significantly during shipment

Thankfully, Turner/ECS was quick to send me a replacement

I am really excited to get this on my car.. the 1st owner I know well, and the only issue he had prior to me was a rock skipped up and put a hole in his OEM oil cooler. He shrugged and was like "under warranty.. whatever".. but I dont want a repeat of that experience.

My plan is the turner as soon as I can, especially if I put on a cooler upgrade like the Mishimoto.

Thinking about going to a 2021 M2C and this thread right here is by far my biggest concern with the vehicle. Where I live, the roads are garbage. Has this issued been remedied by the factory in 2021 models? I am guessing not?

Insane vulnerability. I will probably go Turner to avoid cutting. The plate doesn't have to be strong enough to support the car hitting a stationary object but does have to be JUST strong enough to take a dent and deflect a rock or, specifically in my case, hardened chunk of jagged ice.

Not addressed. Car is the same as earlier years. Yeah I would almost think twice owning this car if I lived somewhere with heavy snow. Just not a good car for inclement weather conditions. TMS oil cooler plate is a good investment. I need to get one as well or find someone to make me one at a more reasonable cost.

Bought the Turner piece. Got absolute shellacked on shipping and currency exchange. Will post some photos when installed. Just not worth the risk though. Our roads are terrible here and I really do love some winter driving.

Finally got around to installing the TMS Oil Cooler Guard / Skid Plate. I got the black powder coated version and also installed a bit of black mesh for added protection.

So no more deflectors under bumper in front of wheels with M2C version?

Adapting M4 one allows to keep them:

How much adaptation is needed for the M4 one to fit the M2C?

Nothing really. Just trim the OE plastic guard the same way you would for the Fall line. I posted a review of the M3/4 oils guard a while back. Will edit a link in a sec

Edit: oh lol it was in this same thread. If you check the 1st page you can see some other photos i posted of the M3/4 specific oil guard fitted to the M2 https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=26778522

Someone tried mounting it, and the mounting points were off slightly.
