I had a MK8 Golf R on order before I got sick of waiting and a facebook advert got me clicking on M2's for sale where I realised I could actually afford one. Since having the car though I have fallen completely in love with it and am in the process of looking for a second car so that my baby M2C doesnt need to slog me around for work and with my dog in the car daily. It's my first car that I have had and wanted to keep.

So I guess my answer would be if I didnt have the M2 at all then i would get a A4 Avant or a 320d Tourer for its practicality in daily life. However like I am trying to do now is keep my M2C and get a slightly older (18/19) A4 Avant or 320d Tourer.

Summary of my story is I f'in love my M2C.

I drove the M2 for a few years. It was a fun, quick car. But then I upgraded to this. Many Personal Best lap times were slaughtered since.

Its either an M2C or a GT350 for me. And its leaning towards M2C. I've never owned a BMW car, bikes I'm on my 2nd one. The M2C will be my daily/weekend car.

Was going to buy a Mach 1 until the dealer said "of course there will be ADM this car is special"

I got M2 Comp instead.

I really liked the C7 Grand Sport. But it probably would've made a terrible daily driver....

I almost bought a car a few years earlier and would've gotten a Focus RS or a Chevy SS circa 2017, but i decided to hold off for a bit.

Back in 2017 I ALMOST bought a Chevy SS. They would not take my 2013 Mustang GT because of an airbag recall. Thank goodness, later that year I got a Viper insead. Whew!

I kept this to complement the M2, and that's what I would be driving. Single hump stripper FTW

Probably a 2011 Lexus ISF. Was really pissed the dealer screwed me at the time, but I'm so glad in hindsight that they did.

Interesting...I seem to have had a few of the vehicles mentioned so far.

I've had an ISF (custom valved exhaust was somewhat wicked), an S4 (V6 supercharged), a Revo Stage 1 S3, an Elise S, an Evora NA and an Impreza GB270.

All very different, but all bring something unique to the party.

I'd still gravitate to the incisive nature of a Lotus I'm afraid, but I'm in no rush at the moment. Certainly not tempted by a G87 either!

This car and the M2C are the 2 that I refuse to sell. IMHO, but high marks for BMW

I had one of those, dynamically one of the best cars I have owned.

Cracker of a garage collection 👍

Back on topic, would likely have been an RS3 prior to/ in running against (first) M2, BUT I’m 100% confident I would have since sold it within a year so would have ended back here anyway.

Was looking at the Kona N, but likely would have kept the Grand Cherokee with the Hemi or gotten a 135i as a weekend car and built it up. I had a 135i years ago that I really missed, always regretted getting rid of it. The M2 is just a step up in every way, this will be my first winter with it - can't wait!

Probably back to my roots with Japanese cars, I would probably have a 2023 BRZ. Super cheap to mod, lots of parts that the m2 can only dream of (real CFD tested aero parts), super light weight, and cheap to repair (engines are cheap, gear boxes are cheap, diffs are cheap etc) - this all adds up to a great track car.

Jeez the C7 is so much prettier than the C8.

The C8 looks like hot trash.

I'm sure dynamically it's better, but the C7 is what people will lust after.
