Interesting that they didn't comment on tread-life longevity of the PS5 vs PS4 whereas that was one of the big points when the PS4 came out. There's only a comment on PS5 longevity vs competitor's tires. PS4 tires lasted quite a bit longer than PSS

I found it amazing how many cars at the Barrett Jackson auction had Michelin tires. There were the odd white-letter tires, Nitto's, and bias ply lot, but I would say that over 80% of the vehicles I saw wore Michelin's. It was truly amazing.

I guess we can assume a 5S in the near future?

Interesting point. Its also good to know that the PS4 had better tread life than the PSS. I was planning to get PS4s (now PS5) when my PSS wore down

The article and some of you are confusing the PS4/PS5 with the PS4S. A successor to the PS4S has not been announced, yet.

Here's a video comparing the PS4 and PS4S:

Even thedrive is confusing this info by using 4s and 5s to mean plural 4 & 5! Seems like it’s time for some Michelin tire model name changes…

If you don't mind changing sizes the best street tire comes on the new G82

The Pilot Sport 4S Star tire codeveloped by BMW M. The new cats meow

Just mounted a set on my buddies G82 and they transformed the car

There are pros & cons to going with star/non-star, especially when it is fitted to a car that the star wasn’t specifically developed for: https://www.tire-reviews.com/Article...t-OE-Tires.htm

My 4S’s are my track rain tire, so I wouldn’t pick the star for my use.

255/35/19 f
275/35/19 r

Unfortunately they don't come in our stock size

If we're lucky the G87 M2 will come with 4S ⭐️ tires in our size

They use a rubber compound very similar to the new Cup 2 - 240 Connect tires

Yes I know I just haven't got feedback from anyone other than CS owners

CS has adaptive suspension so I just started a thread asking for potential input from M2/M2C owners

The new PS5 is supposed to replace the PS4S as the ultra high performance summer.

This is not correct apparently. The PS5 is a replacement for the PS4.

I’m perfectly fine running the sizes you listed, but I do not think the G82 comes with those sizes in starred tires. Am I wrong? Serious question, not trying to be snotty. Could you link to them on tirerack?

I believe the starred tires in those sizes you’re mentioning are the rear 255 from the G20 and the front 275 from the G82.

I definitely would not want to put a rear star on the front and front star on the rear onto a completely different car than those tires were designed for.

Falling down the tires rabbit hole..

I am running the stock 788m rims on my 245/265 PSS star tires. *really* not looking forward to replacing the tires, and still have time to wait on that but thought I would start the research now.

So stock M2C wheel setup, but radically increased power curve with all of the performance changes. By the time my fueling is done, I will be 700rwp + easy, and am already spinning the rears at will at 600+ now.

From what I am reading, looking at maybe 255/35 fronts and 285/35 rears, PS4S star when the time comes? Yeah, millions of options, change rims, add spacers, etc etc etc. I am hoping to find the reasonable daily driver in often rainy Seattle sweet spot, with more rear traction on average.

So:
Front - 245 to 255/35? PS4 star (if available)?
Rears - 265 to 275 or 285/35? PS4 star (if available)?

I'm actually at this point not sure what those 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 4S ⭐️ star tires were made for 🫤

You're probably right… But they absolutely transformed the G82 without question
