Didn't have a problem negotiating a good deal on mine and I'm in California. $65k MSRP purchased for $59k new off the lot at the time.

I love this drug.

Mine was MSRP last summer and stuck at the port when I made the deposit. The prices are def regional and dependent on your dealer I think.

Any dealer selling M2 at 10% discount needs their head examined.
1) We're talking about a car that MSRP in low 60s to begin with
2) There is, relatively speaking, a limited supply for a given spec
3) It is a fairly popular car

I did it. But I'm a good negotiator

I know in Canada, BMW inventory search tool is complete BS. It shows 0 M2s for sale now in Canada and my dealer has two I know of. Also, as previously stated, many dealers "hide" cars that don't show up anywhere.

That being said, in Canada anyways, Covid times are definitely not the time to buy a car.

Congrats! For the point of this discussion, "off the lot" is the key phrase here. MT or DCT?

Porsche was notorious a few years back for hiding GT3's and keeping prices artificially high as well. It's so silly.

I actually got a decent deal on my '21 m2c order (6-7% range iirc) but it took a while negotiating between a few different dealers. Can get even better if you find a '20 on the lot for sure.

Really? Lol.

Are you a salesman at a California or Northeast US dealership? This is the kind of nonsense that has dealers selling m2CS's for $100k and comps for MSRP or more. Give me a fucking break, this car is NOT unobtanium.

Hearing this kind of bullshit from dealers is what forced me to say Fuck off and buy out of state.

If you get a car for 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% off, whatever the right number is for you to pull the trigger, then good for you. This is the worst fucking post I've ever read, and I'm thinking you should get your head examined.

They still show that they have a black CS, my buddy called them earlier in the week to buy it but it was sold. Still showing on their website.
Also, you're 100% correct, they didn't have any ADM on their cars.

1) You have emphatically made my point

2) I can see it pisses you off to no end that you were "forced" to buy out of state. I sincerely hope that this is the biggest crisis you have had to deal with because you sound like you're ready to stroke out.

3) No, I am not a car salesman but I doubt the key to job security is handing out big discounts to Sublime00

4) You may want to give due consideration to your post for "the worst post you've ever read"

Your point, which you clearly made is that anyone selling the car at 10% off should get their head examined.

Sounds like you're rationalizing your stupid decision to overpay for a car that others are getting discounts on. Did you also pay $2000 extra for the doc fee and $1000 for rustproofing lol?

The worst part of your post is that you are in fact discouraging people who are visiting this thread looking to get a good price on the car.

Just bc the ny tri state area and California overcharges for a car, doesn't mean there's limited supply and a discount can't be had. M2CS can be had at around a 5% discount and m2 at around 10%. I would encourage anyone looking at an m2 to do minimal leg work and get a great price.

You haven't made any point guy, and you do sound like a car salesman, a crappy one at that. And your moronic post did cause me to stroke out, but don't worry I'll recover and enjoy the discount I got on my car.

I was just negotiating with sterling bmw in new port beach today and they wanted 108k for a black/gold/dct CS today

20k mark up.

They wouldn't budge any lower than 7k off the mark up let alone 10% off msrp.

You must be good at negotiating

Well that's called a crappy price lol.

10% is price off of a comp.

I'm sure if you wait around prices on CS will also come down a few % below MSRP.

This thread is devolving rapidly, and there is a far better one for pricing info (https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1541148). TLDR is that you can get good discounts if you shop with big megadealers and do the PCD; lesser discounts with some dealers, and other dealers won't budge. I got 3% off a ground car with the local dealer b/c I didn't want to wait, but had no problem getting out of staters to talk good deals at bigger discounts; the guys downstate gave me the 'it's rare, we couldn't do better than a grand off msrp' (and still holding it a month later).

My experience was very similar to yours. Dealers seemed a bit firmer on M2 because it is arguably the best value proposition on their lot. The best deal I found, through a forum reference, was on the East Coast but I decided I didn't want to deal with out-of-state process. Just a personal choice. The best deal I found on the WC was about 4.5% on a car the dealer was going to trade for. After two weeks of follow-up dealer told me "sorry, we were not able to trade for car". One of the things that made my search a bit more challenging is that I wanted SO and there were not a lot of them on the ground. You could order, but not get as good of a discount. I was heading down the path of ordering, because I didn't want to compromise on spec, when a SO popped up at a dealership 3 miles from my house. I ended up buying @ 3.5% off.
