I just had installed the bm3 stage 1 91oct tune on my 2020 M2C (DCT) and wow what a difference this is. Their customer service is top notch, they helped me along every single step of the way.
From every gear the car pulls harder and just as smooth as stock. The only problem with the car is traction, which it already has traction problems in stock form. All I have now is AA single mid plus Remus race with bootmod3 stage 1. With all the quirks bm3 offers the car drives and sounds like the it should be. I tuned down the burble aggression with burble timing (it sounds awesome without being too obnoxious). Great way to improve the overall drivability of the car... Keep up the good work bootmod3 I haven't installed the gts transmission tune yet, due to the fact that I drive the car 95% in manual mode so I don't really care for it |

I'm considering Bootmod3 Stage 1 over Carbhan when my car gets here. I was considering Carbahn mainly due to the warranty, but as they only cover the remainder of the 2 year warranty, I don't think that upcharge is worth it - on top of being more expensive in first place. Also, bootmod3 seems to have MUCH better cusotmer service. All of their emails are responded to promptly while Carbahn takes days and sometimes does not even respond.
I'm looking to see if anyone has had bad experiences/issues with Bootmod3? I'm not new to tuning, but most other cars were either tuned locally or I went with another tuner. Is anyone aware of any catastrophic failures due to the tune? |

If you have a M2C from before 3/19 then it's most likely OBD port unlockable. In that case you could flash back to the stock tune and relock it before going in for service.

That doesn’t work. Just because you relock it honestly doesn’t mean anything bmw has access to the information of how many times your car has been flashed. Everytime you flash your car the flash counter goes up by +1. Bmw will flash your car everytime they do an update. They record keep how many times your car has been flashed and if your flash counter is off your straight fucked. If you want the safest bet of warranty. Run a piggyback. But even that isn’t totally 100% fool proof for bmw but it’s much better

I was under the impression that BM3 and most other flash tunes have a way of resetting the flash counter, at least thats what I've read in tuning threads. Of course there are other ways for them to catch a tune like overboost which is mainly what a piggyback tune does.

Yes if you have a major engine warranty claim then they'll look further for sure. Regarding flash counters, its perfectly ok for car workshops outside the BMW network to carry out flash /programming updates on cars (it is in EU/UK anyway) so BMW would have no knowledge of this so can't rely on that figure. My cars never been to BMW only to an independent BMW specialist. They always all if i want the updates doing to which they get a resounding NO! |

Will they check? Maybe. Maybe they'll be dicks about it. Maybe they won't. If they want to deny your claim, or void your warranty just because you have some new ass hole who wants to look good for his bosses, then you're kind of fucked unless you get a lawyer. |

They WANT to do the work, they will do what they can to do as much as they can get paid for, they know how to play the system. So unless the test process throws you out they won't be looking for reasons not to do warranty work, that's just bad business for them. |

Two questions..
1. Moving to OTS stage 2 this week: in the N55 changing plugs plus more aggressive gap was very typical. Any similar changes for the S55 motor? 2. Has anyone mapped out what the OEM burbles are in the custom burbles map? Like oem equals this setting in each option? Just wondering.. Thanks yall!

If it's been tuned BMW will void your entire drivetrain warranty The best I got was they will decide 'case by case' if the previous owners tune caused a potential warranty issue |

They don't check ECU parameters every service. ISTA workshop tool can't check that that kind of thing, sure if you have a big warranry claim they may dig a little - as required by the warranty provider.
I don't know why the fuss - you got to pay to play. Either you wait till warranty is over, then tune, if it blows you have to pay BUT you've had to wait 3 years to enjoy it. Or you tune in warranty and if it blows you have to pay. Either way you pay, just sooner or later that's all. And as with any mechanical thing it's more likely to fail when it's older. (other than very early failures). |

I personally know many people with Flash Tuned BMWs that are still under warranty. None of the cars have been flagged because of the tune during a service visit.

For those of you who have the cold start delete (with or without the gts roar @ start up). Is it better for the car in colder climates during winter time to turn cold start back on? Or is it okay to leave it off and let the idle for about a minute before driving?
