If you changed the HBA settings to enable GFHB, take a moment to do a simple test. With the lights in auto and 10'- 20' from a vertical surface, manually activate the high beam. If it doesn't look like the attached image, the required hardware is not present.

So did everyone else who coded in GFHB on US Bi-Xenon. All it does is swivel the driver's high beam at full intensity towards oncoming traffic. It's f*cking annoying and worse than just driving with high beams on manually.

My beam moves away from other cars on the road. lights swivel up and down and also left and right depending on lighting and traffic conditions. if multiple cars on the road it goes to low beam or if there are a lot of street lights it goes to low beam. if it annoys you, maybe you should revert back to the original settings.

It's not my headlights that are the problem. It's every time I'm being followed by or driving towards a BMW with Bi-Xenon coded to enable GFHB that doesn't have the adaptive shield. That's what's annoying.

Maybe they are just driving with their high beams on having no regards for other drivers. We have a lot of drivers here like that and even those who drive with no lights at all because they think driving with DRL looks cool not realizing there are no taillights.

No it's coding applied to cars without hardware as the swiveling moves the intensity hotspots to an even worse position. The projectors required for GFHB are not legal at all in the US as they use mechanical shields for all advanced forward lighting functions including low beam. These are not conforming to DOT standards and are cause for revocation of BMW's self certification importation status.

I played with coding high beam assistant on and off for the past week or so.

"lemetier" is right, it's socially irresponsible to leave GFHB enabled on a North American car because it lacks the necessary hardware to properly shield the light out of the eyes of other drivers.

I would recommend that people do not waste their time removing "5AP" from the FA, unless they also change their headlights to ECE spec units.

I love it on my EURO spec M2. Cool to see it 'wrapping' around cars, swiveling around. I also checked how it looks from outside by letting someone else drive my car at night: you see that the M2 light is more intense than usual light, but not to the point to blind you. Cool stuff. Already happened a couple of times that a car keeps following me for a long distance in my lane on the Autobahn, 'using' my 'Wall Of Light" as a kind of trailblazer through the dark.

So to clarify, for cars equipped with the LED headlights this will work as it does on the Euro Spec cars? And exactly what needs to be changed in the coding to make this work? I saw a post somewhere else saying that you needed to enable 2 different settings in the LAMaster1 are of coding. Any clarification is very much appreciated.

Tried to do this today but was unsure of something so I wanted to ask.

So for those 3 on your list that are for anti dazzle, the first one seems straight forward to just activate the values but for the second and third are we using custom value or just enabling something like for the first? At least for the second I didnt see a simple activate.

I've never done it myself but according to the excel spread sheet all 3 of the anti dazzle settings should be a hex change from 00 to 01

Not sure if Anti-Dazzle has been confirmed to be safe / functional on a Xenon (pre-LCI) NAR-spec car?

We are pretty sure that on the LCI, the NAR-spec Adaptive LEDs are missing the proper "masking" system to be able to use Anti-Dazzle safely. You can turn it on, things happen, but it doesn't "tunnel" properly and so it can blind other drivers.

The Xenons may actually be OK though, I have no idea how they handle tunnelling.
