I did a bit of searching on it, by I'm by no means an expert. The copper grease seems to be the most popular option.

My knees make similar noises every time I do Squats. Where do I apply this anti-seize compound, and how far should I move my kneecap to minimise the noise?

Hm, tried a couple of things in the meantime: first I replaced the pinch bolts and fasteners with new ones, lubricated the construction of the front strut with anti-seize, torqued it down to 45 nm (~20% of the original 56 nm torque value, because of the anti-seize) and buttoned it all up. Still clicks.
I then tried again, this time also thoroughly cleaning the hubs of the car and the contact area of the wheels and torquing it down to 60 nm, while also jacking up the suspension (so that the suspensions is under load). Interestingly enough, the sound on the right hand side is gone, while on the left hand side it's still there. Driving me nuts. Any further suggestions anyone? |

I'd contact your local BMW dealer and just ask them what they have done when guys come in with this clicking. It's obviously nothing the owners are doing, having happened to many stock cars. Anti-seize simply keeps the 2 different metals from bonding. But it must be used with caution, as there are many bolts you don't want to put it on. |

behind the disc is a aluminum plate which mounts with 3 bolts to the wheel hub, The clicking sound comes from these plates, don't try any of these other fixes I did them all with the same issue, just install 3 X ceramic or soft copper washers between the plate and the hub, this solved my issue immediately and only required taking the wheel and disc off, replacing the hub bolts and installing shims was a waste of time.
