Plenty of power stock but... I'm already getting the itch!
Anyone have experience yet? Curious to know how it affects drivability as well. |

I'll do it after my break-in service late November or early December but I have a feeling traction will be an issue with the narrow stock tires on the M2C (245 front 265 rear). I enjoyed my stock M4 Comp more after I replaced 285 rears with 295s. Even though it was a 10mm increase, it made a nice difference in terms of traction. Once my PSS are dead on the M2C, I will do the same and put 265/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear PS4S tires to take better advantage of the CS tune

I inquired about it, they haven't tested on the m2c yet they said. Pretty small premium for warranty that can be performed at the dealer. Mine is getting parked in two weeks so got some time to wait

When I got my M3 ZCP, the CS map was the first flash i did
I highly recommend it as your first map as well!

If you just brought it in for an oil change or routine maintenance and it wasn't hooked up it would be fine, and if you flashed it back to stock before any warranty work you'd presumably also be fine...but it's still a risk regardless. There's no 100% guarantee that they wouldn't be able to detect that you've modified the DME. If you're not comfortable risking your warranty don't flash the car. Plain and simple. |

You asked if bmw would void your warranty if you do a factory CS tune on a M2c and the simple answer is yes, they would. |

- Revert back to Stock and locked. No chance of tamper code showing once flashed back. - No flash counter limitations - our dev cars have been flashed well over 1000 times. This has always been a BM3 feature. - Flash date freeze - unique BM3-first feature, no other tool supports today. Flash date never changes when flashing with BM3. - Flash counter freezes after OBD unlock But if BMW wants to dig hard enough they can find anything. It would just take a lot more effort. Looks like Steve Dinan will have a stage 1 flash with factory matching warranty. For individuals that want too worry less and not deal with removing tune for service. |

I haven't heard of them breaking encryption on the F series and everything listed on their website currently is very JB4-esque If they were to come out with a stage 1/2 flash I'd be VERY interested but this piggyback shit is a no go for me. |

Got any related links? I googled it and came up empty. Their website doesn't mention anything either.

I am not comfortable with their version of 'warranty' as they will only step up if you can prove that it's their tune that cause the drivetrain issue. Otherwise you are caught between a rock and a hard stone when both of them deny responsibility.

I'm no expert but based on everything I've read over the years and based on testimonials of others here, my understanding is that if you tune the car they flag it. If you then bring the car in for a related warranty repair they can deny the claim if they prove it was related. If I'm wrong then please fill me in.

Yes, all they could "flag" is drivetrain and if you really wanted, you could lawyer up and have them prove the tune was at fault... its typically a losing battle though, because of the obvious lawyer fees
All warranty work I've ever gotten on my cars (including a new motor and trans..) was after I severely modified them. I am straight up with my service advisors, though. I'll do the same with this car. Push comes to shove, building the motor is an option |
