Can someone with this exhaust post a quick video inside the car (windows UP, radio off)?? I would like to hear specifically if there is any drone around the 3K RPM range. Preferably someone WITH Fabspeed Sportcat. I'm one headache away from ripping out my MPE!!

Here is my video to compare. Windows closed, valves closed and sport and sport+. The drone is lower from the first day, like I said I drive with closed valves and this sound much better than the stock with open valves, deeper

There's a little drone but not much. It really doesn't translate well through video. There's only so much a cell phone clip can show you about an exhaust. You really need to hear it in person to decide if it's better than what you have and if it's worth making the switch. If i were you i'd hit the regional forum and see if anyone in your area has this set up so you can hear it in person. I hope you sort your issue out one way or the other. Best of luck. |

Well I had quite the Sunday afternoon.
I drove from Philly to Montclair NJ to meet up with Andrewc89 and listen to this exhaust setup..... MY GOD.... It was everything I hoped for and more! I already have the sport cat so I wanted to hear the Remus and sportcat combo, I was blown away. The sound is crisp and has a beautiful deep tone unlike most of the exhaust systems out for the M2. I have not had the luxury of hearing many other exhaust systems but I have heard the Akrapovic. In my honest opinion the Remus sounds worlds better than akrapovic and for half the cost. Andrews videos are great but it sounds even better in person. It’s always difficult to capture the sound on a phone which is the reason I drove two hours. Anyone that’s on the fence about this combo rest assured, it’s incredible and worth the money. I am convinced and ready to order. I will update this thread as soon as I get mine. Thanks again Andrew! |

andrewc89 could you make a quick video showing the differences between closed valve and open valve? I'm trying to see if it's worth it to purchase the CG module since I have the same exhaust setup as you.
I know you have the two separate videos showing cold start but it's hard to gauge the differences in volume in two separate recordings. |

(The easiest way to combat this is to put your foot on the throttle after you start the car and raise your rpm's 100-200 while you're in neutral. The car quiets down a ton right away. Hold for 30 sec and you're good.) Where the valve controller DOES make a big difference is when you're driving or revving outside of the cold start. It changes the sound your exhaust makes quite substantially. Opening the valves in Sport+ makes a bunch of noise and closing them in comfort makes the car sound almost stock. Very convenient when you're hungover or have the wife/gf in the car. That being said here's a quick 2min clip of a cold start I just made starting with the valves open. You can hear the sound/volume change as I open and shut them every few seconds. You'll have to forgive the audio cutting out for a few moments during the video. It's so loud that my iPhoneX couldn't even record it properly. The 4K 60fps sure does look good though. After the cold start sequence is over I open and shut the valves a few times and then rev it in Sport+; again, alternating between open and closed. Sorry I didn't have time/patience to add annotations indicating what the valve position is but I'm sure it's very obvious/easy to tell when they're shut vs when they're open. Hope this helps. |

Thank you man! This was exactly what I wanted to hear. I didn't care much for cold start noise but more for normal driving and you're right it is much lower in volume with the valves closed.
so the VSC-1 will do for us even though the Remus has two valves? |

got the same set up as Andrew after reading his review last November. Pulled the trigger almost right away. As he rightfully mentioned ,the only downside is the early morning start ups, it is just pure nuisance. But just driving off with it is completely fine and kinda shortens the cold start procedure.
please let me know if you get a rattle on the rear deck around the speaker area under load once you install the set up ! |

Great thread! Your other thread really sold me on the Fabspeed Sport Cat and Dinan resonator delete. I was thinking about Dinan's exhaust, but I've heard the tips hang low, so I think Remus is now my first choice. Thanks for all of the videos!
