Really good result from M2 considering it has 3 litre engine with 365 BHP vs the Camaro's 6.2 Litre engine with 455 BHP.
The M2 is not about straight line speed anyway.

Having the DCT definitely helped. Not only because of the faster shifts, but also because of the lack of boost being blown off between shifts in a manual. (Assuming you aren't no-lift-shifting in the manual)

This is the biggest reason I didn't want a manual in my M2. It's no fun feeling the boost drop every time you shift and have to build again. In a high revving, naturally aspirated engine, this is less of an issue, but it feels like watching your soufflé fall each shift and it wasn't for me.

Very impressed with the M2, especially from a roll. Yes, the SS walked away but it was a slow walk. Remember, the SS is an M3/4 competitor given the 12.3 @116 performance numbers and the 0-100 in 8.9s is really fast.

First sign of a bend and I'd want the M2!

The Camaro would beat the M2 around any track, twisty, short, long, whatever. Quite an achievement really. Was just about as fast as the M4 GTS around Laguna Seca.

because you couldn't handle going faster in a corner? the SS 1LE package is 10,000 dollarscheaper than a M2 and is faster than a M4GTS
obviously not as nice inside and refined as either but if youre just talking about performance you cant talk like that lol |

Let me preface my post by saying I am the original owner of a E92 M3. I'll likely keep my E92 forever because, well for one, I clear braed the whole thing, second, I just bought a daily driver for the specific purpose of keeping the E92 as my fun car. Finally, I've only owned and driven BMWs in the past 10 years.
With that out of the way, the Camaro SSLE dumps on the M2 by any performance measure chosen. Those who think otherwise probably think the earth is flat. |

If all I was interested in was 1/4 drag, then sure, I'd have a big American V8 with it more torque than HP all day long. However if I wanted it for anything else it would have to be a European or Jap car. Last edited by CommitConfirm; 11-28-2016 at 02:14 PM.. |
