Just to give you an example, there were only 713 MY 2016 M2s in all of North America (not just the USA). It is far more limited than any of the individual M3/M4/Convertible models.
Wow! Don't know it was that low!
For reference there were 740 1M produced in 2011 for U.S. Market.

Anyone know what full M2 production for the U.S. has been so far, MY16 & MY17? I'm sure this is available somewhere?

I don't remember the 2017 figures for the M2, but I know they were a good bit higher than the 2016 models which was really a half year production cycle.

In the end, the M2 will be higher production than the 1M, but significantly less than the M3/M4.

A M2 facelift *and* GTS this year by all accounts.

Not sure how a GTS compares to a CS though

I recognize that all of these cars have been tricked out with all the M performance parts and whatnot, but man... that's a hefty premium to stand out a little more. Probably a dealer markup built in there too?

That does not seem right to me. My guess is M4CS in 2017 and M2CS in 2018.

In the article, they say M2 GTS OR CSL

IMO, both of them are unlikely to happen in 2017...

Yep,I can read too.

Still doesn't detract from reports that a CS is around the corner,so the original comment remains on how the GTS would stack up against a CS...

Would these dates appear be a mixture of announcement timing and production? Some of these models have already been confirmed by bmw?

I'm guessing these were dates that reference announcement by bmw. Models already confirmed have their dates updated to delivery/production start.

Hmm, not too far fetched actually. M4 followed that path.

So would that mean the facelift could be the CS and what we thought was going to be the CS is infact the GTS

I do find it interesting that there is an M2 specific face lift, and the 4 series included the M variants. Why wasn't the M2 just lumped in with the 2 series coupe?

The M4 CS thread doesn't bode well for this to be cheap given that that seems to be approaching 95% of a GTS.

I'm not so sure we will see similar upgrades mirror from M4 to the M2 CS. The M4 CS has the advantage in that BMW can retrofit any components from the GTS without added R&D costs. Whether is be the GTS wheels, OLED tail lights, water injection, ect. This works to spread development costs, so this is a no brainer for BMW. Where the M2 CS, without a larger brother to pull parts from (other than the S55), probably won't get items like OLED but I'm hoping for water injection. Also hoping for a manual which would reduce costs.
