So you guys think I'm ready?
Getting ready to do a major detailing session this weekend. Also just found out its Detailing Image's "Detail Day" this weekend. What great timing!! Below is a list of all the products I got if you can't tell from the picture.
MTM Foam Cannon Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam P21S Autowash Kit Pinnacle XMT Series Speed Clay Kit HD UNO Menzerna SF 4500 Menzerrna Poly Lock Sealant Lake Country Pads (CCS) - x3 Orange, x3 White, x2 Black/Grey, x1 Red Various Chemical Guys Microfiber Towels (Bought in bulk, the way to go) Chemical Guys Woolly Mammoth Drying Towel Still awaiting Chemical Guys Black on Black for trim and Dodo Juice Blue Velvet Hard Wax. All the supplies are from Amazon, Detailed Image, and Autoality. Gotta love the amazon prime free 2 day shipping (had to get the honeydew with that). I have to give a shoutout to 'T' (Eric) at Autoality, he helped me decide on some products, gave me great advice and kept answering all of my noob questions for this first time detailer. Maybe I'm a little crazy since this is going to be my first detail, but I think I will get much more satisfaction doing this myself, even if it does take me 3 whole days! If anyone has any advice for me that would be great. I will be doing the detail outside (unfortunately) but luckily under a carport. I am going to try and time lapse the whole detail with the GoPro. Hopefully I can get that uploaded along with a bunch of before and after pictures for you all to view. |

Nice! Can't wait to see the pics and vid. Maybe don't start with the orange pads. I keep reading that one should start with the least aggressive pad/product first and check the results.
Have fun! |

Wow man I didn't realise it was that involved!
I might have to get mine done at some point but I think I will pay a professional to do it. Looking forward to seeing the results. |

Great collection of stuff. I will add, however, that you will likely find yourself wanting more towels.

Before and after pics will definitely be here soon.
Can anyone comment on tips/tricks with using the HD UNO. I'm gonna start out with the white pads and if needed move onto the orange. Have heard that you don't work the HD UNO until its gone, just until you see the defects gone. Anyone have experience with it? |

I have that foam gun and love it.
Do a test with just a LITTLE bit of soap in it to get the sprayer adjusted before you fill it up and waste a bunch of soap shooting out in a straight line. I don't see any pad cleaner - you will want that to clean out your pads during and after the detail. |

Yea I'm stoked to start using it!! Thanks for the advice on the foam gun. Do you know which foam gun you have? Supposedly there are two different MTM Foam guns one for 'high pressure' gas pressure washers and one for 'low pressure' electric pressure washers. I will be using an electric pressure washer so i'm going with the 'low pressure' one. What setup are you running? Yea got 3 packs of 3oz Detailers Polishing Pad Rejuvenator. That should be plenty right? |

I have a gas unit, so I must have that one? Didn't know there were different ones actually.
Yeah one pack per 5 gallons of water. |

That is an awesome setup. What kind a pressure washer you use for your cannon? Psi/Gpm?

Just picked up a Ryobi 1700psi 1.2gpm ($150 @ HomeDepot). Gonna use the low pressure MTM Foam cannon with it. We will see how it goes. Hopefully it foam up to my liking. I will post a video this weekend sometime. |
