I let mine go. My insurance company offers roadside assistance for free, and I didn't think I needed two providers.

I have roadside on my insurance now, but usually road side is for X amount of miles, so I'm figuring if bmw assist covers mileage to the nearest dealer (lets say my wp fails) then I'll be fine and it'll be covered.

My wp failed and I was on mt rainier. Costed in neutral all the way down where I had a tow waited since there is no cell connection. It's best to have a back up IMO after my experience.

Nope, I have CAA (Canadian AAA). In the end it offers more than BMW Assist. The only thing that I really was using it for was sending Google maps to the car.

Nope. Didn't use it once and I have roadside assistance from my credit card. Comes out cheaper than CAA too for as good or better services offered.

I had BMW assist for about a year after I bought my e90, but I didn't renew it. I never used it once, but I believe it depends where you live. If you live in the mountains where it snows a lot or somewhere rural it might be worth the investment.

I wouldn't renew. I had a dead battery and called BMW assist and had very little battery on my cell left. The woman on the other end took her time, had to call somewhere else to verify my account, came back and then said she'd order me a tow. I simultaneously called my insurance company afterwards. Insurance company-referred tow came very quick, BMW-referred tow never showed up.
This was at 1130pm. I'm never renewing BMW assist again.

My four years just expired in July. After much deliberation i renewed. BMW USA gave me 15 months instead of 12. If i had it to do again I'd probably just go with one of AAAs plans. Much better towing options for cheaper.
