Homelink rear view mirror compass
Hey i got an 08 335i without the homelink mirror and was wondering can i just switch it out for one or it wouldn't be compatible? if so what do i need?

Check the DIY section for retrofitting the mirror. The mirror itself installs pretty easy, but you may need to install an extra wire back to the map light console to give it power. It's about $25 or so.

I think I've read that if you have autodimming on your mirror already its just plug and play right? my car is at the shop right now so I'm not able to look at it at the moment.

If it's already auto-dimming then yes it's just plug and play. However, all USA 335i's in 08 that had auto-dimming mirrors also had homelink.
