How many miles should i try to get out of a 330i

I have a 330i 2006 with 91k miles
Think I can get to 300k without killing it with heavy repairs?

I'm going to find out. I'm at 140,000

Have you had the power door locks go out yet, or the window regulator? They will.

Auto or MT? If you have an auto, start thinking about changing that fluid. If you wait it might be too late.

Keep up with scheduled maintenance and she should treat you good.

Glad you found the site.

The engines will go that far for sure, but you'll have to do it before the car gets to be 15 years old or you'll be spending all your $$ replacing rubber. I recently sold my 1990 750il....Engines and tranny are bulletproof...now lets talk about bushings, fuel lines, suspension parts, belts, radiators, hoses, electrical wiring getting brittle.....the list goes on. I dont care if your the original owner and meticulous as hell about maintenance...rubber and plastic break down over time.

ATF is a big one. I would have thought BMW learned their lessons when they first tried it when the 1993 740's were introduced. "Lifetime fluid" meant life of the original owner. Those who purchase used cars that had never had the fluid changed had a big surprise if they did it all at once (soon tranny failure). If you sucked out some and ran it with frequent 3 quart changes prior to a filter change it was fine. I just sucked out 3 quarts from my 330i at 55K miles and replaced it with Red Line D4. I'll do it again at 65K and 75K, then do a filter replace at 85K. Tranny should last a looooong time. I did this procedure on my last 750il and it was running strong on the original tranny at 177K when I sold it. I know....let the bashings begin...

that's a good question - help

I'm new to the e90. Bought an 06 330i that I drove from az to atlanta. Put in 1.5k the first week on new thermostat, water pump and labor.

I want to stick with the car but it's 1 thing after another. From reading this forum I've learned about the windshield cowl/water/blower motor problem I have; the door lock problem (seriously BMW?) that I had to fix on a business trip to nc!. Thanks to all of your combined knowledge and the search feature.

I have the bad radio display and a bad wheel bearing as well.

Now after a cold spell and hard rain: the car started slow tuesday am but turned over (accessories worked fine). Went to work for about 5 hours, came back out to parking lot it turned barely once then not at all. Accessories still worked. Tow driver came and jumped it from posts and battery. No change - wont crank. Now at shop. Considering selling it and getting a 350z.

Any suggestions?

Im at 111k hopefully it will last another 50-60k mileage that would be fine with me ^.^

If you really wanted you could get the car to last forever but it would not be worth all the costs to repair everything -__-

Sold my last one @ close to 200,000 for a pretty penny.

It's a BMW. It will need regular maintenance and attention. When kept well, these N/A cars can stick around forever. Not sure about the electronics, iDrive, window regulators, a/c, ... Germans don't do electronics well. At all.
