Installing roof rack

i got roof rack for the car (e90) and was wondering do i have to pull the door like hinge off the roof to install or just flip them open and leave em like that?? while installing.. i know it's noob question but i just wanna make sure nothing flies off my roof while driving around

just flip them up.

i've put well over 5k miles on my car with bikes on the roof, this is one of the most stable, quiet and secure rack set-ups ever.

I've popped them off accidentally before but no you just flip up and go as everyone else had said. Enjoy the rack! Don't strip those screws!

don't be. It's simple. They just use soft metal in those "proprietary" screws in the mounts. Mine started to strip since i take mine on and off. I just never fully torque it anymore and it is solid as can be.

i just tried like 5 times... i couldn't get it on right..i give up i'm going to the casino instead lol

nice! I need to pick up a BMW roof rack asap as the snowboarding season is coming up quick. I can worry about my mtn bike attachment later...

where'd you guys pick up the roof rack? trying to find one used if possible..
