Yeah, Pulling the selector off an automatic seems to be rather difficult for a lot of people. They want to pull gently on it being careful not to break anything. What it really takes is a strong yank on it since it's a friction fitting. Once you get the feel for it and aren't afraid you'll break it, ( which you won't) it's pretty easy to do.

Mine only came out in neutral I tried park is it possible it's different for different models

have you've tried rocking it side to side up/down and then pulling straight up?

Okay, I did it! Turns out the best way is to yank it up with BOTH HANDS. That way you can exert a lot of force and still control it, and hopefully not knock yourself out
I think the neutral thing is just so that you can get a good angle on it. |
