Question What is the best glass cleaner locally?

I know the good ones you can order from but does ANYONE know of a good streak free kind I can go to say murrays or autozone and Buy today.

It seems like Windex sucks and I always get streaks on all my windows even if I clean them 3 times in a row.

thanks,

Oh and what would I use with it, just a normal microfiber towel or can it be 100% cotton one since its just glass?

Windex will work fine, but some of the Windex products have ammonia which you shouldn't use on tinted glass as it will damage the tint film. I love Stoner's Invisible Glass and it can be bought locally at Lowes or any autoparts store. From my experience it's not so much the glass cleaner that matters but more so technique. First of all you do not want to do this with the car in the sun, or with the glass hot. You want the glass to be nice and cool. Have two microfibers, on one you spray some class cleaner and clean the glass with it, making sure a minimal amount of cleaner is left on the glass. Once you do that, take a completely dry microfiber and buff the glass to a shine. Works perfectly for me every time.

+1, been using this stuff for a few years now and it works great. I also use the 2 microfiber cloth method, one wet with the cleaner and the second one dry to finish up.

Decades ago this became popular because newspaper inks were kerosene based. The kerosene acted as a solvent and increased the efficiency of the glass cleaner as a result. However, today's inks are not kerosene based so it no longer has this advantage. The only advantage newspaper has any more is that it is free when you have a stack of them sitting in the corner.

+1000 for Stoner Invisible Glass, that stuff works great. The real trick though is to have a clean towel and to use enough cleaner (many people use far too little).

1 tip above all that has proved golden for me is using a waffle weave towel (I use Dodo's Window Waffle) - this probably showed the largest increase in window clarity, since it soaks up the extra window cleaner, and it doesn't shed...

Second, I use Meg's NXT window cleaner (i have the 1st gen, but I doubt the second one would be worse).

With this combo, my windows disappear.

Once I run out of Megs, I will be going for swissvax.

I also use a waffle weave. Combined with Stoner's, I've never had a streak.

Doesn't get any better. I bought it at Walmart for my car after reading about it here, and had to buy a few more for around the house after my wife tried it.

Stoners/MF to get the grime off. Then one of the window-specific waffle MF towels to wipe it really clean. Plain MF tends to leave some lint for some reason.

^^ I am assuming that the waffle weave towels can be purchased at same place as Stoners?

Most auto shops sell them in their detailing section.

Ok guys Update time:

I got the Stoners glass large Wipes and used about 5 on all my interior glass, and there was still some streaks I noticed in the sun. So I used a NEW wipe for each door/windshield. And then a new clean waffle weave towel, and it looks a lot better but sun went down so I will have to wait and see I guess.

I was told that the Meguirs gold class wipes are great for our seals and for leatherette int. in which I have, to use on. So I couldnt find them but will look just for the quick detailing stuff.

thanks for the tip though, it seemed to work better than the blue windex or some Green stuff I tried.

They sell pre-moistened wipes now? I've always just used the spray and wiped off with a waffle weave towel.

STONERS Invisible glass here, that's all I'll use. Get the foaming spray in the can though, works better than the pump bottle.

It is tint safe. I have no idea if there is anything special about that particular brand of tint though.
