Skiing/Snowboarding Anyone?
I want to go snowboarding/skiing either Friday, January 1st or Saturday, January 2nd.
Right now we are a group of about 6 people (guys and girls) leaving from queens. Anyone else going that weekend? We can make a mini cruise out of it driving up the mountains covered in snow. If we get enough people, we can get group discount rates too. I'm trying to decide between Hunter and Belleayre mountain. I'm more for Bell because it has cheaper rates ($44 compared to $63 for lifts) and it's 30-40 min closer than Hunter. Edit. Final Plan: Place: Belleayre Mountain Time: Meet at Rental Shop at 8:30AM (leaving queens at 5:30am) We are staying till 4pm. Our group has 8 confirmed people.

Hunter is the best, but it's also $20-$30 more than Blue, and 1hr further away. In total, hunter would be at least $40 more expensive taking gas and miles into account. (lol times are rough)

Friday has cheap rates that's why I chose this Friday. I can't take off work the other weeks.

I wish it was a closer drive for me. Im headin up to a local ski resort here in PA, but its nothin special. I just looked up directions to Hunter Mountain and I would be lookin at about a 7 hour trip, if it was 4 to 5 I would be there. Have a good time, and try not to get too cold haha.

I grew up about 25 minutes from Blue Mountain (had about 9 season passes over the years). It's a great mountain for how close it is.
Ski or board on the sides of the trails at night. Most of the softer snow gets pushed to the sides of the trails and you have some powder to ski/board on. I won't make it this trip, but have fun everyone!

We are going to Belleayre because I get to skii for free since it's my birthday month. lol My bday is June 1st which translates to January 1st. We are going to pull an all nighter the night before and leave at 6am from the bronx (5:30AM from Howard Beach lol).

I suggest you get a helmet to be safe and knee pads. I had a coworker go for the first time last year with us and cracked his helmet. Imagine if that was his skull???? Anyhow, be safe and have fun. |
