hid
everyone who has hids has 35watts, i was just introduced to 55watt hids, has anyone heard of those and if you have let me know how are they. i heard they are 3 times brighter than regular hids. if i get good reviews i might put them in my fogs. so please help me out. thanks

Back on track... The extra wattage would create extra heat and it will for sure thow an error on the dash.

^yup, that's what I was most worried about. More heat = bad result. I'd stick with 35w, which is more than enough for HIDs.

this can be the same for the wires too. more power going through the wires = more heat. i have heard of guys melting their wiring harness for their headlights because they put higher rated bulbs in.

I have 35W HIDs in my fogs. While recently speaking to an HID manufacturer, they told me that there really isn't much of a difference between 35W and 55W. They just have more of a current draw, and produce much more heat. If you want to see a 55W kit in action, check out forum member Lightwerkz on m3forum.net who has 55W in his low beams and has a custom lighting company.
