Replace Top Mounts?

I'm installing a set of M Performance coilovers soon and will be retaining the OEM top mount setup. I'm wondering if I should take the opportunity to buy fresh mounts? The existing ones on my OEM dampers have 35k miles on them - do we have a sense for the longevity of these items? Thanks.

Seem pretty solid, i would leave be unless you may want more/adjustable camber in which case add in some millway street plates.

Personally I would not put them back in as many (including myself) have had noise issues with aftermarket suspension on OEM top mounts. They just aren’t very high quality and something as simple as unloading/reloading them during the installation can cause noise issues.

Do you mean that you replace them with new OEM items? Or replace with some aftermarket alternative?

what about just changing the bearings on the top mounts, they come off pretty easily and I'm sure I read somewhere in the forum that you can buy oem quality bearings, I'm sure someone can help with a link?

Mounts don't typically wear out at that mileage, but the thrust bearings might. Have a set handy is a very smart move. Replace as needed.

Thank you for the suggestion! It looks like someone else already identified the bearing part number here.

Hi Alanine,

I'm planning to update M Performance Coilvers too, how does it work now? Any strange noise came out?

I haven’t installed them yet as I was waiting on the bearings, which I had to order from Europe. Now I just need to find some time to get them on. I’ll report back!

Adding onto the original question…. I have Vorshlag camber plates for my stock suspension. Can those by reused for the M-Performance suspension?

Yes. M-Perf suspension springs use the same ID as stock springs.

I have never heard this, and I have had no problems at all with the stock mounts + MPS for over 20K miles. I also personally know guys with 80K on MPS + stock mounts. Tell me about this noise.
