How to reset service notice

I just had my 2020 M2C in for Oil Service after the 3 year maintenance expired. The Oil Service costs $250 but I was able to find a $50 off coupon. HOWEVER, they said I was due for a "Service Check Up" which costs another $250. I declined and now my service indicator notifies me every time I start up the car that I am 50+ miles past due for service. Please advise how I can reset the service indicator????? Thanks!

1. Turn on car without starting engine (i.e. press start button without foot on brake)
2. Wait for all dash lights to clear.
3. Press & Hold odometer button until service reminder comes up.
4. Use short presses to scroll through the service reminders until you get to oil change.
5. Use a long press to start a reset.
6. Turn off car.
7. Wait a couple seconds.
8. Start car again (with or without engine), check that the service reminder for oil change doesn't come up.
9. At this point you can also review the service reminders in iDrive.

IT WORKS! ALSO, for "Vehicle Service Check". Thanks!

Assuming it's the same for M2C as it is for M2OG - If you have a manual trans, you have to put the e-brake down to do the reset. I got a different menu when I followed these steps from another video with the e-brake up.

I have 2020 M2C and these instructions worked for me. I have 6sp Manual and e-brake was on as I was parked in my garage.

This worked for me only one time. After 4 years there is another service needed and I used the method mentioned above and it would not reset the maintenance. Not sure why it worked before though.

I then used ISTA to reset it. Maybe it was the e brake issue?

Man - YOU ROCK!!!

I have a ‘19 M2C in the proper 3 pedals variant; my iDrive said I needed oil change and brake fluid flush. I did my own work and was ready to reset the notifications, followed the instructions above. I got a total different menu, nothing about resetting …then I tried your advice and released the handbrake. THEN I was able to do a reset on both.

I kid about 6sp, of course…but I am pretty sure this reset process is solid without any caveats if you have DCT. I watched 4-5 YouTube vids of F8x owners (mostly M4/M3 and DCT)…not a single one mentioned the handbrake piece. Well done CTSean !!!

PS squirrel moment now…I’m looking to get ISTA+ installed since I’m wrenching more and more on my car. Anyone know recommended laptop specs to install the software?
