Is there a way to power off all electronics (ID8) when pressing the stop button?

I’d like to know also. I find it annoying when go to get something out of the car in my garage and the music XM starts playing. I know if I lock the car it powers everything down but don’t want have to keep my car locked all the time.

The iDrive & hence any audio playing will turn itself off after a few minutes (in the manual) if all you've done is opened the car's door & then closed it again. I'm not sure how long it takes, I guess you could time it the next time you do this?

Don't think so, but it will power off as soon as you open your door or, if you have a passenger, after they open their door.

No it won't. It powers off when the doors are closed and locked, or after several minutes.

There's a setting in iDrive that enables powering down the screens/electronics when the door(s) are opened.
From the manual for ID8 cars, not sure if it's the same for ID7...

Establishing idle state when opening the front doors
After a trip, the sleep mode can be established by opening the front doors. For this purpose, all passengers must exit the vehicle.

3. "Doors and windows"
4. "Lock/unlock"

Yes it does, if ID8 menu settings correctly set. If not, maybe try an iDrive reset?

Yeah I made a post about this shortly after I got my car. There does not seem to be a way to stop the media from turning on as soon as you open a door.

I think I may have mislead you! I was referring to how the iDrive turns off after you have been driving the car. Checked your scenario of going back to the car and opening the door and it as you describe it - iDrive comes alive and last media source operated starts up, and remains on even when you close the door(s) until either you lock the car, or several minutes have passed. Sorry about that!

if you have a mute button on the ID8 screen, try long-pressing it. that's how you turn off the screens in ID7
